Just want to say… I have made fun of my wife for the last 7 years we have been married & today… I will apologize. She says that you can learn anything on KZfaq. Well… today I found out I was wrong. I appreciate your video & it helped me save my job, my marriage & my sanity. It was a stress less process the way you explained it & it took maybe 20 mins. She could have done it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart & I will be a subscriber from here on out. Keep the videos coming man, you’re helping people learn & be independent.

Thx helped me alot, pro tip- when you're rotating from underneath, as the belt finds its way onto the pulley, have a set of dikes handy to cut the zip ties..I had trouble as it got around to the gap between ac compressor and crank pulley, it would bind up and jump off. I put 4 zip ties and cut them as I rotatated pulley.

About to tackle this tomorrow. How much force is required to turn over the crankshaft with your socket wrench? A little worried that when I try to do this I won't have enough space for the leverage needed.

Hey! Which belt did you buy? Everyone keeps giving me a belt that’s way too small. I have the 2020 1500 LT 5.8 V8

I like you video my say so on this is ive seen a few more videos on this 5.3L sepertine belt change why is everyone changing the pully out on them when theirs nothing wrong with the old one i just was wondering does GM require this when you putting on a new stretch belt or it just something the owner want to do. Am just asking because am going to change mines out tomorrow on memorial day 23 by the way great dam video

Thank you! I did not mention it but mine was making noise (sounds like a cat whine-like noise when stepping on the gas) that was my reason why I had to replace the pulley. I don’t believe it’s GM required but Seems like this idler pulley starts wearing down at around 50k ish miles and that’s why most people swap it when doing the belt just because you will be doing twice the work later on when replacing the worn down idler pulley. Always recommended but not required if it’s not bad. So I guess that would be my answer. Good luck with the swap!
