Awesome! Nice choice for a ride I’m sure the hemi sounds awesome with the #borla.

If only I wasn't scared of the dealership voiding warranty. I'd do this also. Sounds awesome man!
@MatthewRafter2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know all the ins and out of warranty coverage but my understanding is that obviously the replaced parts won’t be covered. However, there is information out there that suggest they can’t require you to use oem parts for repair and unless they can prove that the replaced part caused other failures they still have to honor warranties.

Any dealer can always use the “not operating as designed” argument and make you prove otherwise (at your own cost).

@Daniel Carenvale As I was working on it I don’t know where I put the meter go figure I’ll measure it on a cold start and follow up but I’m going to guess 75db or so. It is louder and at around 3k rpm there is a fair amount of sound in the cabin compared to the stock setup. That being said I love it! It sounds more like a performance vehicle.

Nice video man. I've already done a Ripp kit on my buddies 2011 durango 3.6 and he's got another Ripp kit coming in 3 months for his 2018 jeep grand Cherokee 3.6.

Still waiting for mine lol. I’ll add small shot of nitrous for now to make it a little more fun.

I had a the Borla XS on my V6 Durango but wasn’t beefy enough for me. Cut those off and put on some Blastin Bobs. Now it’s essentially straight pipes
@MatthewRafter2 жыл бұрын
Glass packs with blastin bobs? I considered them but I think it may have been too loud for me lol.
@krmtdfrg2 жыл бұрын
@@MatthewRafter not the glass packs the D250-b with black tips to match the blacktop package. I love the loudness, makes it sound beefy.

@@krmtdfrg Nice! Gotta say as much as I love the the stainless steel tips carbon build up is real and would love black tips.

I also have the Borla Exhaust! It definitely helps to wake the V6 up! Great video!

Pretty sure I checked your video out months ago and was part of the reason I went with borla. It wasn’t obnoxiously loud.

Did you have to do anything as far as tune?
@MatthewRafter2 жыл бұрын
@@djcapel86 not yet it’ll run with stock tube. I’m waiting for @DiabloSport to develop one that I’m hoping will allow me to unlock all the potential of these and future mods.

Are the rear mufflers really supposed to hang down that low/at an angle? Looks a little bizarre to me...

The drivers side I could loosen and pull up about half and inch but it’s the same lines the stock exhaust followed

Not sure which would be better on mine? The S or Atak? I like the aggressive noises!
@MatthewRafter3 ай бұрын
I really do love the sounds of the S-type but the Atak is going to be louder and more aggressive I would think. @borla what do you think?

How is the drone at high rpms? I drive up and down the east coast (16 hours) no stop and don't want a loud interior drone.
@MatthewRafter2 жыл бұрын
It is much louder in the interior of the car than before. If this is a concern of yours I would advise against it.

Cant believe this is the only v6 video i found and he talks more about the gas mileage and didnt make few fly to see how it the soubd insidd and outside wooow
@MatthewRafter Жыл бұрын
I did do a comparison of the cold starts in the video but couldn’t find the decibel meter after the install. I did eventually find it when cleaning up and cold start went from 69-70 db OEM to 85 db with the borla. I even did a pull on the highway to show the change in acceleration noise, I didn’t have an OEM version posted of a pull. Performance wise I only spoke about mileage due to the fact that my butt dyno didn’t notice a difference but if MPGs goes up it’s a good indication that the flow is free’d up slightly of restrictions and allowing the engine to perform without strain.
@jacobsjafir9332 Жыл бұрын
how loud is it inside the car i don’t want it to be to loud it the car but decently loud outside
@MatthewRafter Жыл бұрын
It’s certainly a noticeable change even inside the car. Its not to the point though where I can’t listen to music or carry a conversation. I think the sound generated from the intake can be louder internally at times.
@spooksandsumi33572 жыл бұрын
Possible to do this without taking the rear bumper off?
@MatthewRafter2 жыл бұрын
Maybe with a lift but the hangers for the rear of the exhaust are high and on the outside edge. I found this to be the easiest way.
@spooksandsumi33572 жыл бұрын
@@MatthewRafter thanks for the reply, waiting for my borla to be delivered for my rango I can’t wait! I guess I’ll just take the bumper off if it’s easiest, just a few clips and bolts
@MatthewRafter2 жыл бұрын
Yup, there are 2 plastic rivets you’ll need to drill out as well, I took them out when I did the hitch install. Then I just replaced them with the plastic automotive clips.
@djcapel86 Жыл бұрын
What all did you do other than the exhaust?
@MatthewRafter Жыл бұрын
Intake, throttle body, and I had new coils but put the OEM back on. I will be uploading tuning process and nitrous complete ruin in the next few months
@thomasthurston66562 ай бұрын
Did you notice any power gain ?
@MatthewRafter2 ай бұрын
It was hard to tell, initially but I would say with everything done to include the tune it definitely did pick some up. With the V6 it’s all the top of the rpm range. I would say above 3k you feel it.
@thomasthurston66562 ай бұрын
@MatthewRafter I am thinking about maybe going with them. I have a 67 Buick with the 225 odd fire V6. I am running full dual exhaust. The heat raiser is removed. I also did an H pipe and cutouts with Flowmaster 40s. I was wondering, weight savings, if any. I have run it on the track a few times in CALIFORNIA SoCal at Pomona and LACR. Most of the time, it ran 18s. The 2 speed shifts at about 65 to 70 from 1st to 2nd. it's also a 2.93 rear. It's more of a freeway car.
@vladimirm95212 жыл бұрын
Does this actually add hp?
@MatthewRafter2 жыл бұрын
It’s what I’ll say is a complimentary modification, it alone would not do much but paired with other adding it helps open the free flow for aspiration.
