Your Durango sound is improving with each exhaust mod you are doing. Love the current sound at the moment. Going with an aftermarket intake will enhance it a bit as well. I just picked up my 2020 GT blacktop edition about a week ago. Doing the basic mods for now - tints, dashcam, DroneMobile remote monitoring. The exhaust is definitely on the list of to-do items. The current sound is not too shabby for an OEM 3.6L V6, but I desperately need to beef it up a notch. I'm thinking of just deleting the two mufflers and see how that goes for now. Your videos have been very helpful in the route I'm looking to go.

Thank! Glad to know my video and my experience is helping out in some way. I like the current sound as well but I'm almost there. As I said I'm going to remove the xpipe to see if that will beef up the exhaust sound. But I will wait until I install the air intake. Stay tuned 💪🏽

I finally got my exhaust done and I went with the straight pipe and Borla’s instead of the xpipe. Love the sound with the air intake

Add a k&n cold air intake and that will help too. I got a 2018 sxt with 1 pipe and it made it more aggressive. I just found out that the rear valance to the gt fits mine so I’ll be doing the same as you

Hello, and good day, I really enjoy your videos, i have a 2018 Durango GT V6 as well and dont care for the Borla S Type cat-back they offer and really like the tone the Pro XS mufflers have over the S Type mufflers. By removing the X pipe, you will make it sound more choppy and unbalanced and just make the note sound rowdy and tingy, a X pipe will allow for the gasses from one bank to scavenge behind the opposite bank, it will remove rasp and quieten it also. After watching this and comparing your tone and note with the S Type. The S Type is just too loud and has no deep tone behind it. The Pro XS is my choice for my 2018 but I'm gonna add 5" tips to fill the rear fascia better. This setup sounds good! You can also add a set of resonators after the X pipe to help deepen the tone further and remove some interior drone. Hope this helps. 🍻

The only way to significantly change the exhaust dynamics (other than what you have already done) is to change the heads and cam and compression (for more air flow). If you change the intake, you will get more intake noise but, the exhaust note will not change. How much HP/TQ do you thing you gained with the exhaust mods?

I completely agree...I do have the intake and not much has changed with the exhaust sound but overall aggressiveness has increased. If I had to guess I would say I've gained about 15-25HP

X pipe with resonated tips. I find that Borla and Flowmaster does no justice for the 3.6. I had super 44 put on, same day I took it off back. Air intake will definitely change the sound. I want a Durango can't decide wither the v6 or v8.

I can a feel a slight performance improvement, exhaust feels like it more "open". As for mpg, the only reason it might be on a decline is because I floor it every chance I get because it sounds so good lol

To add a deeper tone, you should actually put some bullet resonators. Yes it will be slightly quieter, but it gives you more tone control and should also reduce your interior resonance as well. Both a mid muffler and rear resonators on the vehicle stock, and that is to reduce your interior drone not just exterior volume. If you have some bullet resonators up front and some straight through core mufflers at the back, that is how you will get a recent level amount of sound under load while remaining nice to your neighbors under startup for the most part and while idling, and also a reasonable interior volume while cruising

2.5" tubing xpipe. Borlas were 2.5" as well. Originally durango pipes are 2.25"

I see the pipes were offset on your mine are just straight across. Where did you get yours from? Also I don't have an xpipe I went straight to striaght pipe. 2.25" can work as well. I ordered mines straight from borla with the offset. It all depends on how u want your setup. The guys at your muffler shop should be able to make it work. I would love to hear what it sounds like with the straight pipe and borlas

A super 10 is gonna drone really, really bad, I would strongly recommend steering clear of one on a v6.

It sounds like a turbo v6. Unfortunately you can't get a v6 to sound like a v8. Not enough cylinders.

@@876ixlifestyle the race track is the part of your tail light that lights up when you turn on your lights or hit the brakes. That’s what i think it means when they say that. I saw one and i thought it was yours that had carbon fiber wrap on that part of the light assy. I should have taken a screen print but i didn’t.

Those 5" tips are causing the problem!! A ProXs sounds great with either strait tubing or ¼" larger tips...why in the world would you chose 5"???

Sounds more aggressive but you can't pull off a hemi sound with a V6

@@876ixlifestyle well you need to leave that borla shit alone and get flowmasters in the back. Don't straight pipe. It'll just pop pop pop and sound like a shart. You need back pressure or you'll lose hp and torque

DOES NOT sound like an 8. Tone much deeper and sounds great PERIOD. It is a 6 and as a result can only sound like one! ( pull a coil off - it will sound like a 5 (etc.))

Don’t remove the x pipe it’s not the problem take the mufflers off and have them put 12 inch glass packs in the place.
