2020 Honda Civic Si - Tail of the Dragon POV!

A favorite destination of the Daily Motor crew, Deals Gap, more commonly known as The Tail of the Dragon, is a beautiful and engaging section of mountain road on the boarder of Tennessee and North Carolina. With 318 curves in 11 miles, it is an excellent test of the cornering and acceleration abilities of any vehicle. We were excited to see how the Honda Civic Si Sedan handled the aggressive route, especially on its all-season tires. Spoiler alert: it was a blast!

I just bought this car used. Love it. Same car: red 2020 Honda Civic Si coupe. It’s my fun daily driver. Great getting up to speed on the highways (75), passing, but it excels on tight turns and windy roads just like in this video. It might not be the fastest car out there but it handles incredibly. I expect to own this car for quite some time and pass it down to my kids when they’re old enough to drive.

With the torque from the small turbo, I think I'd be leaving it in 3rd most of the time.

Love that road! Been down a few times with my motorcycles! SI is the only car I would consider selling my 18 Mazda3 2.5l for.

Nice, what bike do you have? I just sold my '12 Ninja 650 earlier this week. I've been trying to do some videos with it, but it's tough getting the mic setup without a bunch of wind. - Charlie

Daily Motor I took both my 05 fz6 and 07 sv650 to the dragon and both were fun in different ways on that road!

great video, did the Tail with my Grom 2x now, and the wifey did it with our Crosstrek with trailer in tow...Fun times, still want to do it in my Civic...someday !!!

What time of day was this? So little oncoming traffic! The last time I drove The Tail there was a constant flow of traffic and motorcycles coming at me. SO much fun in my Platinum Maxima in Sport mode but nothing could compare to the 6-speed turbo SI. I may have to go get me a Civic SI as my first car was the 1987 Honda Prelude SI and this reminds me of that car from Honda. Great video and anyone that has never driven this road... TRUST ME GO DRIVE IT ASAP!!!

A great chassis but such an unfortunate engine. The rev hang would be very tough to adjust to, the fake engine sound is terrible and the engine is too lethargic for quick rev matches. Its a shame, the car looks great, handles great and gets great fuel economy, but those cons are hard to look past.

@@XeroFailGames The initial throttle overrun can be tuned out. The heavy, slow to rev and decelerate dual mass flywheel isn’t so easy.

@@doctorferdinand1003 Just the tune to remove the rev hang removes a lot of it and the car drives awesome with just the tune. I have a 2020 Si Coupe and I disabled the rev hang with Hondata and just doing that made the car drive a lot better. The flywheel isn't even really a problem as long as you have rev hang disabled. This is coming from someone who absolutely hates the rev hang in these cars. Made me regret buying mine. It drove me bonkers but once I did the rev hang delete, it completely changed the car for the better. I'm loving the car now.
