The Honda HR-V isn’t the most cutting-edge offering in the small crossover segment but equipped with quality winter tires and a capable AWD system, my tester handled a generous spell of Northern Ontario winter with confidence to spare and some surprisingly pleasing handling. The HR-V’s secret sauce? It’s easy to drive, thrifty, and refreshingly confident and responsive regardless of the weather.

I like the idea of folding the seat bottoms up to keep the dog of the seats

The 2020 HR-V had the fewest new-car problems of any other model sold by Honda. Honda has had the fewest new-car problems of any other brand for the last 6 years in a row. The HR-V also holds its resale value better than any other subcompact in its class. The "EX" trim level is the most "bang-4-the-buck" HR-V sold.

This was a great review, I test drove the 20 hrv sport yesterday and was on the fence on buying it... Your indepth review is pushing me to get one over the Kona.

What are the upgrades from the 2019? The only one I saw were the front LED lights.

its at or near the top of my list for next leased vehicle but the turns offs are high lease rate , no manual knobs for climate control , those park brake / brake assist buttons near armrest/cup holder area seems like a really bad spot for it . MSRP also went up $1000 for 2020 for the exact same vehicle in 2019 ! come on man .....your almost forcing me to make a deal for Kona or wait for the Seltos

potentially one big selling point for people super concerned about oil dilution is the naturally aspirated engine. I'm willing to bet the next generation will get a turbo

Why Honda trying to cut a few dollars cost buy eliminating the power door switch on the passenger side??? Also the center storage is still quite small .........

Dude, I totally forgot that you had this picture as your image. The first time I saw it, you immediately reminded me of another Canadian. All this time later it’s still true. I can probably pull at least two images from the internet right now of Snow wearing sunglasses looking very similar to your image here. Yuri Snow...you’ve been informed.

Honda US isn't about that for security reasons (it's not hard to emulate a keyfob if you know what you're doing) I can't speak for Honda Canada, though I expect it's for the same reasons

I found the hrv to be quite loud and suspension a tad too rough. Ancient civic engine

I would take the 1.8L engine anytime rather than the 1.5L turbo which having oil dilution problems, but I wish they put the 2.4L NA engine on this honda.

@@parsabbaluca21 The engine you are right is very reliable, however I think it did its time. It needs more refinement. Why not put the Civic 2.0 like in the Civic base.
