Cool, The door look better, I remember hitting my head every time I got in. I recently rented the new 2020 Kia soul. It was very nice. handled the loose gravel well. I same just sad they didn't add a dummy wheel to the Forte 5. Sure repair kit is nice but it the tire is damaged it is good to have that dummy wheel. As far as lane assist works well, just not on fresh paved roads with no markings and winter. ( Need to have the line for it).

Which feels roomier, this because the headroom is larger, or the Stinger with less headroom but a but more width? Which feels less claustrophobic? Secondly, which has more room for hauling big stuff? Is the space in the hatch of this as large as the Stinger? For some reason I like this more than the Stinger. It feels bigger for some reason maybe because of the height of the Stinger feeling so restricted like a sports car....Wish this were in the US. I always felt this was the car of the year over the Stinger (in the US). Reminds me a little of the old Saabs. A huge compliment.
@BrantfordKia4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking about doing a video about how Saab buyers should look to Kia to fit their needs, there are a lot of similar features in modern Kia's that mattered to Saab owners. Growing up my dad had 3 Saabs. As far as which is roomier, the Stinger is a much larger car, I would think that it would feel roomier, but if you're looking for a lot of practicality, a sport feel, and great looks, the Forte5 GT might be a great option. To see if one is better for you over the other, you'd probably have to head to your closest Kia dealer to see them side by side.

That's a really really pretty looking car. In my opinion, if it was me, I would give it the best looking compact hatch of the year award, hands down. And dear for you, I would say please always mention the price of the trims when you are reviewing a vehicle, and how much would it cost as tested. Also, mention the top competitors for the car when finishing the review, that will make it really more interesting
@BrantfordKia4 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about the looks! The car looks great. The reason that I don't mention the price is because I work at a dealership. Prices can change throughout the course of a model year, and we use these videos for our sales team. It's not helpful if the price I mention doesn't match exactly. I also rarely mention competitors. There's no point in me directing people to our competition. We're a dealership, not a review channel, so we're going to do things a little differently than a review channel. what are the max load floor dimensions with the rear seatbacks down (length, width, height)?
@BrantfordKia4 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, this is actually a difficult measurement to get for people. Some people want the maximum possible length with the passenger seat in the full forward position, some people want the measurement with the driver seat positioned for them. Sometimes people want to measure the maximum width of the floor, while others want the width at the opening of the trunk. For that reason, I encourage you to stop by your local Kia dealership. @@BrantfordKia If I could, I would, but this car isn't available in the US ... yet. My lovely and gracious wife is a professional harpist, so I'm always on the lookout for vehicles that would make a suitable harpmobile. She's presently driving a 2019 KIA Sorento SXL, which is the ideal size to transport a concert grand harp. (It's also the finest "car" we've ever owned.) My ride is a 2003 Mazda Protege5, into which we can kinda-sorta fit a harp, but it's far from ideal. If I were to replace it, I'd want to find a more suitable alternative: Large enough to fit a harp, but small enough to toss around. The Forte's cousin, the Hyundai Elantra GT, is available in the States, but while its load floor is wide enough it's a bit too short. The Forte five-door you're showing here appears to be longer, but looks can be deceiving. Anyway, we are so happy with our "new" Sorento and are totally sold on the quality, value, and durability of KIA products, so we'd really like to keep everything in the family. It's amazing how many exciting, new options KIA keeps turning out. We'll just keep hoping that one hits the "sweet spot." (Or, we could just break down and buy a Stinger. [wink])

I find it very interesting that you have a 2020 Forte5 yet when I go on Kia's own website the ONLY hatchback they show is the Rio. This thing isn't even on their "upcoming vehicles" tab. Do you have a time machine that we don't know about?? The other thing I find disturbing is how much wimpier they made the engine. I have a 2016 Forte5 and the 2.0 is 173 hp and 154 lb-ft of torque. One of the reasons I bought it is because at the time it was one of the higher-powered non-aspirated engines of the time. Not all of us are hyper-milers and care about MPG's. I'll gladly sacrifice some gas mileage for extra power. Passing cars at highway speeds, going up a steep hill, merging onto a highway with four full sized adults and trunk full of luggage? Yeah good luck with your 147 hp go-kart engine/rubber band CVT. Give me a real trans with 6 actual gears and you'll be seeing my tail lights all day long.

Ok... so... there's a lot to unpack here... Yes, we do have a time machine, it's been super difficult to pull the DeLorean badges off, but as soon as we do, we''ll badge it a Kia, and off we go! Second, yes the previous Forte5 was a step up in power. This one is expected to sell better, and they've done their market research. Third, you need to wait to see the Forte5 GT video this week. The one I'll drive is a 7 speed quick shifting Dual Clutch transmission. It's AWESOME!! Fourth... PLEASE people... stop telling me that the CVT on the Forte is rubber band like. It's actually very impressive to drive. Many of our competitors brought out CVT's that were just brutal to drive. Kia's IVT isn't that! (Rant over!) :)

Of course, I was referring to how it drove. Early CVT's made by other brands were awful to drive. That being said, Kia explained to me a number of things that they did to change the design of their CVT to avoid the reliability problems of some early CVT's from other brands. It's not something that would worry me with Kia's reputation for reliability.

Omg... I waited a lot of time for this one but I’m very disappointed about the single muffler... goodbye forte5.

Wait for the Forte5 GT, it's basically going to be a combination of the car in this video and the one in the video linked at the end of this comment. It will have a dual exhaust and sound amazing. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nqyGiM9h2tO5oI0.html&t

The placement of the lights on the BUMPER is horrible idea. Its a BUMPER, made for BUMPING, ok not really but still a horrible place. Apart from that its a nice looking hatch.

@@BrantfordKia i guess if some jerk hits you at the shopping centre car park then you end up having to fix the bumper and lights.

If you will be rear ended even slightly - you pay $$$ to kia for replacement of lights in that bumper. Do not buy any car with lights built into rear bumper it's not safe and it will cost you an arm and a leg for repair costs even in minor collision.

@@exlg3363 I've had a whole replaced rear essentials on my 2017 kia Optima within the first year due to being rear ended. Didn't pay anything more my on biannual premiums on a $5200 usd repair because I was not at fault. Allstate is the best insurance.

People seem to be really upset about the placement of the rear signal lights. As far as the cost of replacing a bumper. Kia's, as a brand are very often less expensive to insure than many competitive vehicles. So although there is fear in the KZfaq comments section here, that fear doesn't seem to be backed up by the insurance industry that tracks the data of how much things cost on our cars versus the competitor's costs, so I do have to put this comment here to correct what may be misleading information.

It is available as an accessory. This isn't unique to Kia. Many cars in the segment are going with inflator kits instead of spare tires.
