I actually own the 2020 EX limited. I was immediately sold on this car. The styling and all of the infotainment and safety features that you get for the price are amazing. Kia is doing some great things to become one of the top manufacturers for daily users.

Range Rover Style with RELIABILITY!

I've never hated the exterior of a car so much while finding the interior so goddamn fun and appealing looking.

The problem is the Kia Soul Turbo is a $27,000 US car - a full $10,000 more than the base. Sounds great until you realize that's exactly what a CPO 2016 cadillac CTS, Infiniti Q50 or Lexus GS costs, or even a new XSE camry - Cars with more power and better handling than the turbo, and a design that doesn't scream hamster. If you're a 20- or 30-something who wants something faster and nicer than a base economy car, chances are you'll be more likely to get a slightly worse version of a MUCH better car, than the best version of said economy car. If the Turbo was a value-priced upgrade, the take rate would be a LOT higher.

I love my Kia...I've never been Soo happy with a car. It sits high enough to be easy to get in and out of. The design is fun. For my everyday running it gets great gas milage and I think it has the perfect get up and go that I need. I love that I can whip into any parking spot and that it turns on a dime. It drives smooth and isn't loud. I love that I can see over my hood..makes me feel good about how close I can get to anything in front of me. There's Soo many pluses with this car. It just makes me happy. I'll always buy a Kia Soul from now on ..love love love them.

Ok, the Kia Soul is so much more practical that most sub-compact CUV that it competes with price-wise. Like the new style, especially a White Soul because the front looks like an Imperial storm trooper. Seriously. Oh, and it's a terrific vehicle for people who are mobility impaired, door openings are huge, it has a great hip point for the front seats, and the cargo hold is easy to load and a walker or power scooter will fit in the trunk if you drop the adjustable load floor all the way down. Love your channel, fellas. ♿

I got the 2020 Soul with a 6 spd mt that makes it a lot more fun than the ivt equipt ones. Really happy with the purchase. Roomy, fun, handles great, and carries my guitars, amp stack, keyboard controller, and computer

Well, hear we are, one year later. For 2021 the line up has changed. The EX is a step above the GT-line and just below the Turbo. I went from a 2016 Soul + with the 2.0L @ 164 HP to the 2021 Soul EX with the 2.0L @ 147 HP. The 2021 seems to have more pep to it's step, even with less HP. The transmission has improved and unlike the 2016 the 2021 doesn't do that yo-yo thing when coasting down hill. I didn't get the mood lights and really don't care, they seem like an unnecessary novelty. The EX does not come standard with the heads up display and seems a bit gimmicky. Not having a Turbo means saving $6K and lower insurance premiums. The all electric driver's seat is great and the heated seats makes it worth going with the EX. The standard sound system is better than the 2016. A sun roof is a plus. My 2016 was Mysterious Blue and it was mysterious to actually see the blue. It was more of a gunmetal gray. The Alien Green was disturbing and fortunately was discontinued. I saw the EX on the showroom floor in Undercover Green and had to have it. The X-line and the EX are the only series available in Undercover Green. The EX has some great looking dark grey rims that make the car look amazing. This is my fourth KIA and love the reliability. As for the hamsters, they are rodents and smell... Almost forgot, my Soul + had a can of fix a flat and a compressor. My EX has a donut.

Ive mentioned before, but it probably got overlooked. You can make Android Auto go full screen by enabling developer mode. Once you do that, you can hit a few things that make it take up the full screen of any car you use it in.

I actually was very disappointed that the 2020 didn't come in the turbo package in Canada. I emailed Kia Canada and told them they lost a potential sale because of that feature. I'm looking forward to the GT turbo Kia Forte hatchback coming out this fall. Please review that one when it comes out! Great job as always guys on the videos!

On the HUD you can adjust the tilt of the screen. FYI we cannot get cooled seats in ANY KIA Soul here in the U.S. so you guys did something we can’t.

I miss the hamsters and I LOVE MY 2020 KIA SOUL!!! I never would have even thought about looking at this car if it wasn't for my son who suggested it. I LOVED the Scion xB - I worked for Toyota at the time it was released - and with the new re-styled "grill", it's pretty awesome and mean looking. I get a ton of compliments on how it looks and rides and I can't believe the MPG in the city. I am getting almost 5 more MPG in the city than they advertise. Adore this car, and mine is a base model that comes standard with so many cool features that would've cost me a kidney and a lobe of my liver to get in any other base model vehicle from another manufacturer.

I love this color so much and wish it were available on all trims in 2023 in the USA.

I'm cross shopping a Kia Soul vs a Corolla Hatchback vs a Volkswagen Golf My heart says Golf since I would get a manual, it has a turbo with better driving Dynamics. My brain says Soul since it's a little more economical considering the discounts they get vs the Golf, I can get one about 3 grand cheaper atm. I like the Corolla but the passenger space is limited and the cargo room is subpar since I need something to put my bike in.

I have a 2018 soul and now I want a 2020. Haha thanks

Great review guys- I just subbed to your channel! It is a great little/big car and got to drive it for a few days in the Bay Area. Lots of features for a decent price and the roominess is pretty awesome. Performance was decent too, especially over all those hills I drove over. Good zippiness going up and good grip going down some serious hairpin turns. I don't drive high performance cars so my reference point isn't very sophisticated, but I gotta say I felt pretty confident going all over town, which I think is the idea with this little beauty!

Distinctive. Nissan Cube - gone. Toyota Urban Cruiser - gone. Kia Soul - lives.

Yuri!! So random to come across you on KZfaq while I’m out here looking at car reviews lol! Came along way from Homes & Cottages I also agree, definitely looks like a Range Rover lol great vid!

Undeniably odd styling BUT the interior is incredibly everyday useful for a very affordable price. FYI CVT’s don’t use belts or chains, it’s a steel band. I could never own a CVT, I don’t give a crap how many fake gears they give it.

Although I never buy new, and could get to good cars for the cost of this new Kia, I must say compared to other new vehicles, it is priced extremely well.

I'm happy this car exists. I don't think I would ever buy one but I enjoy seeing them around. Maybe if they made one with the drivetrain and handling of the Veloster N. What I'm really happy about though is this was shot/exported in 4k. My eyes can finally see the glory of Yuri's shirts.

I have a very strong dislike for Kia Souls, but if the straight pipes put out a video I'm watching it. No matter what the car is!

With a tall family with children the most impressive part is the amount of space in the Soul. We compared to small and midsized suvs and this one was much better for head to ceiling and leg room at same time. Then you factor in the price and of course we bought it.

No matter how you like TURBOS, no matter how fast it drives, no matter how long has it been in the market and how long they've improved it, it still doesn't beat the reliability of a normally aspirated engine.....period.
