When i cleaned out my kitchen utensil drawer - i put EVERYTHING in a box and put it in a closet in a different room. When i needed something out of it, i would take it from the box and then put it back in the utensil drawer when finished. after a month, all of the items i didnt use were still in the box and if i don't use them once a month, they aren't worth keeping to me so i got rid of all left in the box.

😩😩❤️ I’ve done a couple of rooms, I started before Christmas and it just continued! You are definitely right about the domino effect! I started with the guest bathroom to the garage, my master bedroom and bath, my kids rooms and their bathroom!! I have the linen closest, storage closets , laundry room and kitchen to complete thank you for the motivation to keep going !!

I was able to tackle my closet & dresser drawers today and get them cleaned out! It feels so nice, I just started a new job last week but had today off, and I feel like I’m really ready to go head first into this new chapter now that I’ve got a clean and tidy wardrobe!

Just recently found you. You’ve given me so much motivation!! I’ve decluttered my closets and donated! I worked on my kitchen yesterday! I actually organized my pantry this morning. I’m doing an area each day, and yes it can be overwhelming! I still allow myself craft time. Thank you!!

This looks so good! I cook every day and had accumulated so many utensils and tools. When I decluttered my kitchen, I really thought about the item's purpose and whether I might be able to do that step a different way with a more multi purpose tool. I kept one paring knife because it slices fruit so well. It also hulls strawberries and slices small hard cheeses so two other items could go. I kept one soft cheese slicer that cuts two different thicknesses and got rid of my narrow one, and so on. Keep your castoffs for a month to see if you miss them before donating. I find that I really enjoy having fewer utensils that actually serve me in many ways. Likewise serving dishes, storage dishes, small appliances, pots and pans, and cooking knives. Having fewer items also frees me to replace some of my essentials with better quality items. I now have cherrywood spatulas that I use in any pan without worrying about scratches.

I’m very organized when it comes to work and making notes of things I need to do, but decluttering is something I have problems with. I think it comes from growing up and my mom always finding uses for things. And I know as soon as I get rid of something, that’s when I’ll need it. The one organizational thing I love is baskets. You can never have enough in my opinion. They look nice and serve a purpose. It drives my husband crazy how much I love them. 😂

We had the same tool problem, then for Christmas one year I ask for one of those tool bag sets. It has everything you need for all little house projects including an electric drill. It's all in one small bag and I have a designated space for it in my kitchen. It is used sooooo often and is perfect in the kitchen. When done we just toss back in the tool bag

😩 wow that’s a whole lot of decluttering!!! You go girl, you gave me so much motivation to do that in my home. I have the hardest time of letting go of a lot of kitchen items because I’m always in the kitchen. It is so difficult to focus but I hope I just go through it and make my home more peaceful with intentional items and not just have things to have it. As you go through it, I will make sure I follow the next day, that gives me motivation. My kitchen tomorrow. I spent my weekend doing the home decor area which was a mess! Pantry, I'm looking forward to. Linen closet in my house is the catch-all for beach stuff, candles, the works! Can't wait!

Love this! I have been decluttering in a purposeful way as well.. I made up my mind I no longer want to organize the clutter.. lol. When I worked on my kitchen and the amount of utensils, (which was excessive and taking up way to much real estate) I kept my favorites that I was sure I used often and moved the excess to another spot in the kitchen and after hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner I knew what I could easily let go of. So I’ve been in the decluttering process since last May. Did all of the second floor, half bath and now I’m slowly starting the kitchen. This process is taking forever, since I work full time and I got 2 girls, 7 and 10, so you know I’m a busy momma! But it’s something I have to get done because I was really starting to suffocate in my own house. Amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the years!! Loved your video, gave me some ideas on how I want to organize my cupboards 👍🏻🙂

You did a very good job, Amanda! I love to watch your videos. 😍 In the past few years I changed my point of view about things in my household. I only buy things, I really need, not only because I like the idea to have it or because its pretty. To have less, sometimes is more. It saves me a lot of time and keeps my spaces clean and organized. When I buy something new, I tend to buy a high quality object, so that I can use it very long. We’re actually about to move into a new place and I took advantage of the packing to get rid of soooo much. I’m so excited to move in and Konmari the crap out of all our stuff and start over with a clean slate! It’s like a weight is lifted when you get rid of all the excess and I get so happy seeing clean and neat spaces. It makes want to keep it that way! Kudos on your kitchen declutter! It was a lot! It looks awesome! What a great job! I got rid of nearly all of my food storage containers, except a few large/specialty containers. I bought a package of assorted size deli containers and a set of black takeout meal containers (like Chinese food comes in). It has helped so much. It's nice because I'm not worried about throwing them out if they get gross. I also use velcro cord ties on all of my cords. It helps to keep the cords neat.

One tip that I have for tools in the junk drawer is to get a small tool bag including tools. I have one and it is in my laundry room for times we need tools in the house and it is so handy. Also I have been trying to declutter my house, so I am very excited for this series.

😍 Decluttering is definitely so rewarding! We do tend to overload on most things over time.. I declutter often.. and I especially love doing the kitchen.. #1 it makes putting away dishes easier 😆😆... not to mention makes me better productive..Nothing more satisfying than opening up a cabinet/drawer and seeing it neatly organized .. I even do my closet colorizing .. pulling stuff out not wearing much.. that makes laundry easier to put away.. I would have a yard sale.. I saw plenty of money on the table 🤑🤑 Can use the profits for another project..

We just moved into our house in October ,I had originally had 2 small closets full of clothing before moving ,and I've now decluttered so much I only have 1 closet !I completely purged and it feels great to know I wear /love everything !

I decluttered and organized my kitchen just before Thanksgiving. I didn't realize how many dishes, pots and pan, and utensils I had. I'm so glad I got that behind me. You got quite a bit done but it's so satisfying. I would love to see you declutter maybe the bedroom next. Honestly, I'll watch whatever you post.

I have been working on decluttering and organizing my bathroom today along with you! I decided when I was finished I needed to rewatch this one lol I love your shirt, it is so pretty on you! I am not ready to tackle the Kitchen lol that is such a hard space for me! I really connected with you on the Rae Dunn stuff. While I didn't get into her stuff, but we have a lot of dishes and we just don't entertain enough for all of them. Oh and the small appliances ... Oy!!!! Lol Anyways, thanks for the inspirational video. You are always so calm and sweet in your videos. It's refreshing. Enjoy your fresh spaces!

It feels so good to declutter! I just got rid of Tupperware that was almost 40 years old...yes it was time. I am tackling my utensils drawer next. Thanks for the motivation!

My husband and I de-cluttered our out of control pantry. It was a great feeling to have it done and be able to see what we have. We are also doing a pantry challenge to use up stuff we already have very exciting.

Hi amanda.... love love love the video. I've started decluttering in my home and I've got a box started but I'm waiting for the weather to warm up so I can just put everything outside for whoever wants it. You'll always have me as a KZfaq watcher. Lol keep up the awesome work. Love ya girl. 💜💜💜💜

Oh, my gosh, Amanda! What an amazing job you did! Look at all the items you’ll be donating, and imagine someone who is just starting out, or just starting fresh in a new place, but can’t afford much...and then they find your wonderful items wherever you are donating them! Very inspirational video on many levels. 🌷 I’d love to see bathroom decluttering next, but can’t wait for whatever. ❤️

Yes I’m still here.😊 Carrying my tablet around with me cleaning and about to declutter my bedroom. Girl I have been organizing my clutter for the longest. 😂 It came to me the other day and I was shocked. 🤣 So this week I am decluttering starting with my bedroom. It’s a mess to say the lest.
