Beauty bike. Just picked up a 2016. Not TPI, but still a hell of a bike.

I just got my 2020 300xc tpi home. I think I did all those same protection pieces. Fan, AXP skid, tps guard, chain guide tab, rear rotor guard by EE, same front you have, fork shoe guards, handguards, swingarm guards, x grip frame guards, hell I went all out lol, but I also paid a lot of money for it so I wanted it completely protected.

Gotta protect your baby! Such an incredible bike. Enjoy her, ride safe, and thanks for watching!

ATC of NJ yes we do. I wanted to buy her outright with no payment so I did. With that being said, they’re too expensive not to protect. And I agree! Incredible machine. I came off a 2017 yz250x and after riding this KTM I don’t even want to look at the Yamaha lol.

Absolute badass looking bike! I love it. I’m looking to buy new as well. Currently riding a 96 KDX. I’m torn between KTM 250 vs 300. Back n forth between XC vs XCW. Idk diff.
@atcofnj55093 жыл бұрын
I’m not a fan of the gear spacing on the XCW’s. XC is just a smoother and evenly spaced gear box. The 300’s don’t rev out like the 250’s do but the low end on the 300’s is incredible. They’re essentially tractors. That’s the type of power I like and need in tight and rocky NJ woods and single track.

How stiff are the forks on the XC from factory, and by lowering the pressure are you able to get them pretty soft for the slower, more technical stuff? On the fence between the XC and XCw
@atcofnj55094 жыл бұрын
They’re great from the factory and very adjustable with the air system. I almost bought an XCW and am so happy I bought an XC. The 1st and 2nd gears are way too low for my liking on the XCW.
@Drewski4234 жыл бұрын
ATC of NJ yeah. I’m leaning XC just because of the 6 speed semi close. I’ve always ridden a woods setup yz 250. Owned 4 of those and this 2017 yz250x. Not sure I would like or could get used to the wide ratio wth the low 1 and 2. I know the xplor for is plush for my 160 pound riding weight. Hopefully I can air the xact down and get it plush for me because I’m really leaning XC the more I think about it’. Semi close gear box is the only way to go in my opinion. You have a gear for everything there.

You need to replace your plastic waterpump wheel with a billet one. Maybe even an exhaust flange clamp to prevent cracking your cylinder head. If you hit your exhuast on something it would usually ding the pipe. But since you got an exhaust guard it will put more strain on the clyinder head flange if you hit something, plus the newer pipe has that stronger rib design so its working like floor bearers with your guard. It will move as one unit opposed to a ding... straight to the exhaust flange.

Nice up grades on this bike. I would drill some holes in the alum stegpegz , being that it doesn't need to so strong. ( 3:46)

Have you had any issues with the starting of the bike? I noticed the back up kickers gone on the 2020. I was thinking about buying a ktm 300xc.
@brianh84844 жыл бұрын
Joshua Smith KTM starters are good. I have a 2012 500 that has never failed to start with the button (as long as the battery is good) after 210 hrs and a 17 250 xc with 220 hrs that I've never had to kick and it's still on the original battery.
@atcofnj55093 жыл бұрын
I was initially sketched out by the lack of a kicker, too. New the starter designs are light years ahead of the old ones, though. No issues.

ATC of NJ ok thanks. Makes me feel better about purchasing one then.

a dirt bike is definitely not an investment lol but it sure is a sweet sweet machine
@atcofnj55093 жыл бұрын
It is absolutely an investment - in convenience and fun. I was done fighting with old bikes and old technology which I was spending more time fixing than enjoying. My new KTM will have me riding more than wrenching, and that’s an investment with great returns to me.

Why ktm base front tire
@atcofnj55093 жыл бұрын
I use the stock tires until they wear out. No sense in spending money until I have to.
@philwilliamson33703 жыл бұрын
All those upgrades and you kept the stock tires.. 🤦♂️ Don't wait 1-2 years for the stock tires to wear out, get better rubber on that bike asap. Thank me later. 🤜💥🤛

I'm the kind of guy that needs to wear down his stock tires before getting new ones. Haven't had any issues thus far!
