GREAT FINALS! I also just binge watched Men's finals from '17 through '20. Fantastic competition. However, to be truly world class, the interviewing of archers while they compete and directing the audience on when to applaud, give standing ovations, etc has to end! You can do splash screens of each archer's equipment and history. Let these amazing men and women focus, PLEASE!! (The offscreen commentators are fine, but the nonsense on the deck needs to stop)

Really enjoyed the coverage of this and the mens match. I've watched the last 3 years of barebow coverage multiple times and it's been really informative and helped me get into shooting this style. I did find this year though that rather than the archers telling everybody about the equipment they chose to shoot it was more about what they were being paid to endorse - the shout outs and interviews mid match with manufacturers was a bit tacky. I just think it's a great event as it is and with the interest in barebow rising i'd hate to see the event turn into a live product expo when it is meant to be coverage of a competition of skill. Great matches to watch though and inspiring shooting. I'm not sure about the running of a separate women's division when there is no gender advantage and the women would earn a better prize in a mixed division - but if it helps get promote the sport to women more and the female competitors are happy for this to be the case - then fair enough.

They money they payout for a major event like this seems pathetic. What can't they pay the women the same amount the men earn? Their matches were as good as the men's.
@LancasterArcherySupply4 жыл бұрын
The payouts are partly based on participation.As participation grows, so does the prize money. The women had 61 entrants this year. Men had 189. Even still, the Classic has the highest payout in the country for a women's indoor barebow competition.

Could somebody please explain to me why one archer comes to the gold match and fresh gets it or a silver medal, while the other has to win 2 competitors to get the gold?
@LancasterArcherySupply4 жыл бұрын
That is called a "shoot-up" style of competition. In most competitions, you have match-play that results in four archers earning the right for medal matches. Two archers shoot for bronze or no medal, and two archers shoot for gold and silver. In the shoot-up style, four or eight archers qualify for the finals by rank. The lowest ranked archer has to shoot his or her way up through the other archers to get to the gold medal match, while the top ranked archer only has to shoot for gold or silver. In this style of competition,any of the qualifying archers have a chance to win the gold medal. In a traditional finals format, only the top 2 archers can win the gold medal.

For the love of God, stooooooooppppp the in-between interviews!!!!!!!! If you absolutely MUST get their life story and gear lists, then pre-record an interview and play it separately. Just let them compete and not split their focus. It's no that Mr. Kaufhold doesn't have the right to do these interviews, it's that he's just not good at it. He doesn't have much in the way of stage presence or charisma and puts the burden of the conversation on the archer who needs to be concentrating on the match and not answering questions meant to fill up the air and often just goes on tangents that nobody cares about. His energy is weak and fails to transmit that to the crowed successfully, ending in attempts at cheering and excitement that look way forced.
