@Jeff Burnham That’s what I was thinking and wanted to see if anyone knew of such a competition. Something similar to this but with wood bows, shooting off the shelf

@@theabhorrentchef7226 all I can think of is the japanese superlong-bow archery. But its super boring and they all dont really shoot that well at shorter distance. But atleast the women are hot and not 80% of them obese. I am a alcoholic anyway so I made a drink game where I take a shortie of 30% everytime a obese woman enters the stage in western archery competitions. Puked quite a few times after 2 Events

I was Pin Sight Bowhunter Fingers Missouri State Indoor Champion way back in 1980. Shot leagues together with Earl and Ann Hoyt..... Earl always wanted to teach me Bare Bow..... But I never took him up on it...... Sorry I didn't...... Watching these Barebow Finals sure is exciting..... I'm 74 years old now and still shoot down in my basement to keep my form up for hunting season.

@@JSmithskiThere's no need for 70# when shooting targets indoors. Wears you out faster when shooting a bunch of arrows. Most people aren't strong enough for a 70# draw weight bare bow and be able to have that kind of accuracy. 70# would be more for distance outside shooting or something correct?

I want to see a true bare bow class with a literal bare bow, meaning no weight, no limb savers, no rest other than the shelf of the bow. So leather or fur is allowed but no wire rests or plungers. No rules on removable limbs or what the bow is made of just that the bow literally can only be a bow, limbs, and a string. I think you would get a good mix of wood and metal bows, removable limbs, fixed limbs, and probably even more exciting action. It also gets the cost of entry even lower and would allow someone to compete with just hundreds of dollars vs. thousands.

The human nervous system is astounding. The difficulty should be in the maintaining the intense nervous concentration throughout a competition and personal confidence so as not to try and think out the shot . Your nervous system has been conditioned by intelligent practice or not. As we gain understanding about maintaining consistent control shot after shot in practice we should be able to see bare bow shooters compete with shooters using all the bells and whistles - and win -. Grass roots archery folks.

As a Jeweler, my guess is that Erin's black streak is caused by a reaction with her makeup. I've seen it before. Not sure what metal is on the tab, but if it's brass or aluminum it could react. s Sometimes even with gold jewelry it happens. I'd be curious to see if stainless steel would do it, but then again maybe she'll start a trend in archery and people will show up with a black streak on purpose!😁

every archery competition is horribly shot (video) and directed. We should always be seeing over the shoulder shots so we can see the arrow fly through the air. Here's the standard order. Single shot of archer in profile, cut to over the shoulder right before you think they will release the arrow, cut to close up of target after it strikes. Cut to reaction shots. Repeat. Once in awhile have a wide angle profile shot so we see the flight of the arrow from left to right. Usually show this as replay maybe once in awhile live.

@PeterQuentercrimsonbamboo Жыл бұрын
I would say, accuracy is more difficult with the asymmetrical kyudo bow, the yumi (no shelf, no visual aids, no balancing adjustments on the bow, and more difficile bow-hand control during release - bow rotation in the hand - due to the nature of- and technique of shooting with yumi) while style and the anatomical-/postural difference and stance is just that, simply different - in other words, it would depend on what you specifically mean with ‘harder’ - strength required; or learning the form (certainly much more complex with the yumi.. at least the proper ceremonial forms); or accuracy; or consistency;… …

@FeckArseIndustries Жыл бұрын
Why do women and men have separate titles??? It's not a contact sport or a game of strength/endurance, it's purely down to skill and ability. Just like snooker, darts, shooting yadda yadda. Who's at fault here? The guys don't want to be seen getting their asses kicked? The promoters milking two tournaments instead of one combined? Or the women, wanting their own league? Seems odd in this day and age, it could be a truly non sexist sport.
@SteveNinetyski Жыл бұрын
Snooker and darts the men are comprehensively better...if it was mixed then there would be zero professional female players and in darts there would be 2 total women maximum in the game...I know those sports well. Can't comment for Archery though, it may well be more even.
@FeckArseIndustries Жыл бұрын
@@SteveNinetyski Hiya Tom. Possibly? The men dominate but there are far more male professionals putting the long hours in. Get more women into these sports, put the same hours in and let's see what happens? Or just give the girls the option?
@SteveNinetyski Жыл бұрын
@@FeckArseIndustries I guess giving females the option wouldn't make it fair either as the better females wouldn't have the incentive to compete against a more competitive field. A fair few sports now allow women to compete with the men if they're good enough...darts, snooker and golf are three that I know...but zero women make the cut in snooker and likely hardly any ever will. A couple make it in darts and historically a couple if golfers have tried but with very little success. You are saying it would make it more equal...but let's for arguement sake say there are 500 professional males, and 200 professional females in their own separate class.. Put those 700 together and take the best 500 to make one class. (No pro sport has unlimited numbers) Let's say a fair estimate would be that perhaps 20 of those women (10%) make the cut bumping 20 of the men out. That leaves 180 women out of a sport they were once a professional at. Is that equality? We can't have everything.

If you think that then your perception of people is quite off...definitely in this case anyway. And then turned round with an attitude to complain that they didn't call it quick enough. She was 100% fake happy for Erin at the end

I am so glad Erin won that final, great nerves for her age. Fawn I found to be very unlikeable indeed. She couldn't stand that she was getting beat and I can guess if there were no cameras and big crowds to witness, her shenanigans would have been even more unfair towards her opponent. Can you imagine if Erin did what she did? I could bet you a million dollars she wouldn't have laughed it off like Erin did. She shot the 10 towards the end really quickly ( As she had a good feeling she was going to lose at this point) and then turned around with an attitude and said "what the frick" because they didn't call her 10 fast enough for her. No humility and I am stoked she lost😁
