My wife just bought the LDVT60LUX, very happy with it. A good price, 5 star ancap rating and a great warranty. So what if it does snot perform like a sports car. It is great value and they are really built well. The auto is smooth as silk.

I put an sdrive in my 2019 luxe and remapped the ecu and it is doing 0-100 in 10.1 seconds. 140kw and 460nm. Saven 20k on the ldv, spend 1300 on it and it performs better then a ute worth 65 grand lol

I’m purchasing one this month and will be doing the same. You save more than $20k to be honest with all the other extras they add for you for pretty much nothing!

These seem to be great value and have a decent warranty. Yes, its not fast, but a HiLux that costs twice as much also isn't fast. The single cab chassis would be perfect for farmers, nice and cheap and more than enough power for driving around paddocks and also driving into town. Not going to win drag races, but not many diesel utes will. The dual cab model will probably struggle to sell, since this market segment is for people who want a ute but don't need a ute and want "badge cred" with their Thai made vehicles.

Yeah, so much value when something breaks and you won't get any spare parts for months. So much value when you can throw away your used truck, because nobody will ever buy your car from a scetchy brand.

@@miskatonic6210 They are actually quite reliable, with the low power they are running it makes the emission equipment not interfere as much. The power also creates less wear on the engine, and power isn't needed unless you are towing large amounts realistically

@@ManaFPS Just reached 140000km on mine. Only issue was with BCM at about 60,000km but that problem was mainly the dealer mechanics not knowing how to fix it. Is it as good as a Hilux or Ranger? No not really. But the Hilux and Rangers sure as hell aren't worth twice as much as the LDV. As for resale value? If you buy a car worrying about resale value... just buy second hand in the first place.

Excellent value & well equipped Ute; I guess it all comes down to how reliable the LDV is but its certainly worth a look - How bad can it be at half the price of an equivalent HiLux with DPF issues

I guess there are spare parts and mechanics for a HiLux. You will know how bad a china brand is when you need to wait months for a spare part, drive 1000 miles to the next mechanic and will find nobody to buy your used shitbox. How good is half the price new when resale price is close to zero?

It can be pretty bad. An LDV dealer were sued by a now ex-owner who lives up in the Gold Coast as their T60 rusted out within 3 years (bought the car in 2018), and the dealer’s excuse was to not park it near the beach which is a bit hard considering A: they work at the surf club and B: the dealer is located some 5 kms from the surfers paradise beach up in the GC. That in itself is enough reason not to touch one of these 💩📦’s with a 10 ft pole. Even though the Hilux isn’t my first choice in dual cab utes, I’d 100% buy one well before I’d consider an LDV. Yes the hilux had DPF issues but Toyota fixed that.

I think we had been over charged for ute for a long time, just like petrol price, more petrol companies in the area, better price will be, it’s time to get some right price ute, not 50-60k for a ute

That 0-100 took so long I almost feel asleep. I’m a lot dubious about these Chinese owned and made cars. Their long term quality and how well they honour their warranty. They don’t look to shabby, but I’d wait for a few generations before I’d even consider one.
