I didn't want either at 21 bought a 2 year old Ford Fusion Hybrid avg. 38 mpg gas then was 3.899 at the time and paid $18k. Safety and something you can stand to live with for 3+years is what I was looking at.

Pretty sure you can get a base civic or corolla at low 20k. You can buy a si for 23.5 if you shop and that’s a damn nice cheap car.

I bought a 2 year old midsize for 18k when I was 21 glad I didn't buy a civic or similar would have been to small when my twins came along 5 years later. Didn't have to go back into debt for a larger car with me being on the taller side.

Base models now are better equipped than they've ever been...

@dchawk81 Any electrical accessory is generally going to be less reliable than those that are not. There aren't any real base model cars on the market in the US today. Mfrs are adding fluff to raise transaction prices on even basic transportation models.

2018 fully loaded for under $20k?! Must have a shit load of miles on it already. My current Camry which is a 2013, fully loaded SE, still has a high resale value. I get an email from Toyota about twice a month begging to buy it back while they can still resale it under certified. Hell, I just bought a 2020 Lexus NX and the guy really wanted me to turn in my Camry as the down payment, over my cash down payment. I live in So. Cal so maybe that’s a factor. But I really would like to know where all these fully loaded Camry’s are that are well under $20k when the new fully loaded, 2020 Camry is damn near $35k. As good as my Camry has been to me, $35k is far too much. I only paid a couple more grand for my Lexus NX!

Mr. Fengatron barely. It has a low starting price of 19100. You can get discounts too at most Hyundai dealers. At least on the east coast. Even a base model kona is better than a top trim Kicks. By a lot more one would figure you mean $10000 more not $3000. Plus a real automatic transmission over a CVT? Saves you the cost of getting a new trans right there.

@@f181234 Given the positive response (myself included) of the new Juke so far including the crossover craze, it makes me want Nissan to bring the Juke back here. The original Juke may have been ugly, but it at least had tons of personality and potential, which made it stand out. The Kicks is as generic as you can think of.

Agree. The styling has improved. The Leaf is a big improvement over the last gen. But no, I would not likely buy a Nissan either.

Because there is no difference in acceleration, weigh about the same. Only difference is that the Versa is safer than the Kicks. Versa rated 5 stars front driver side, 4 stars front passenger side. 5 Stars overall. Kicks rated 4 stars in driver and 3 stars in passenger. 4 Stars overall and higher chance of rolling over.

They probably looked up the wrong part by mistake. The MSRP of the air filter is $27.97, most Nissan dealerships either charge msrp or less with discount. You can actually find the air filter for $20 online, you overpaid. 😂

Only the qx50 and Qx60 have cvts , but that's not saying much. Infiniti has had an identity crisis for the last few years. Compared to the old ex series , the new qx50 is a disappoinment , and the q70 and qx80 are old. The Q50/60 are really the only things that keep them a float. I have an m35 but Infiniti hype died after 2010 for me

Nope. Because right after the warranties expire most Nissans go to shit (I was once a máxima owner). New car would be more cost effective in the long (not long at all) run.

I bought a new Accord sport Manuel for 23k. Seems quite a step up from these small cars. I get 35 mpg consistently and will touch 40 with eco mode on. Car does not feel like a cheap car at all . Not my dream car but I found it the best value and is big inside.I imagine I will find it hard to resell when I’m done being a Manuel.

Kmeekins416 You don’t have to take his word for it, any level of research on Renault products shows how cheaply made they are. I knew that long before I ever watched him, and Nissan’s quality has taken a nose dive in the last 10 years. That’s shown by any critical evaluation of the mechanics of their cars. Everyone I’ve known who’s had an Altima has had constant issues out of them. Same with the Marano and Rogue.
