Looking good. My giant ADWAG crate just got delivered. Do you have a full size Black Rhino wheel and tire underneath? Did you consider a tire rack on the back of the van?
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
@@emmet2027 exciting stuff man. I do not have a full size spare and that bothers me. I do have the agile offroad basket adapters and plan on installing a full size spare soon under the van. I like the look of the tire on the rear but in reality, i want my spare out of the elements and i dont want to make the van any longer than it is.

I'm totally with you on the Yeti1500. After a lot of research, I decided against building a dedicated/permanent battery system, and when REI put it on sale for $1500, I jumped on it. My GZ charges quickly from the alternator, using a DC/DC charger and it's enough to run my iceco fridge, charge my phone, laptop, camera batteries/etc for about 3-4 days. plus, and best of all, i can easily remove it from the van and use it anywhere. And if i do ever decide that it's not enough power, you can expand it by adding another house battery
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
yeah, exactly! And you can pull it out to use in house for emergency etc. Its a no brainer.

Thanks for the video. I’ve taken some cues from your experience even though mine is f/t work, p/t adventure. I got the Moab bed kit and wish they’d sell other components individually but oh well. 1500x too (will add the alternator charger from Goal Zero. Question, what brand is your bike rack? Oh, and thank-you for bug screen recommendation. That’s on my near term list.

Great update review, thanks. Any specific feedback on the rear door window bags? I am looking for storage and insulation and I don't have back windows and thought these might work well. I see they offer versions with big pockets or more smaller pockets, any regrets going with the big ones? Do they have any insulation in them or did you put any insulation behind them before mounting? Thanks.
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
I like the big one but i see value in doing one big, one smaller pockets. They have decent insulation and work well for this area of the door.

Aaron, sweet setup! I have an AdWag kit on order and Havelock wool in the garage waiting for install. A friend says the wool has a horrible smell and that it rears its head every time you breathe heavily in the van and the condensation spikes (I wear wool all the time, so maybe not a sensitivity I have?). Any insight on this front? I love the idea of using our Havelock wool, but if it gets rank every time we're huddled up in the winter, that would be less than ideal. Also, did you use the hush mat under the wool? Curious if you needed/used that extra sound deadening...
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
Hey. I have no issues with the Havelock smelling . In fact, my friend owns a premium uplifting business and thats all he recommends, hence why I used it. I used kilmat for sound deadening and used a lot of it. I put a nice audio sound system in the van so I wanted to reduce rattle along with any road noise.

With the goal zero are you hooking up just the anderson powerpole (HPP) output to the fuse box and then feeding the AdWag harness from that? I have the yeti 3000x and as the outputs are regulated I figured you can only use the single HPP output (max 30A). My builder was telling me how it wont work but after adding up the load from everything it comes in below the 30A rating of that single output.
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic Жыл бұрын
I used the HPP to power the fuse box which powers everything (auxiallry) hardwired in the van. I then used the other outputs on the GZ to power fridge, laptop etc.

Getting ready to do this next month. How difficult was it to wire the additional speakers in the rear door? Any tips?
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
Not hard, just make sure you do it before anything else, use stock wire routing path etc.

Hi. As far as you music system goes. Does the amp,head unit, speakers sub all run off the Goal Zero? I was gonna go bigger with the power supply to Handel that deal without having to use the van starting battery. Was curious how you did it. Thanks for the help. Chris
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I originally powered by the GZ but switched back to van battery. The factory head unit will always shut off system regardless. Only way to bypass is to install an auxiliary or secondary stereo which goes against my minimalistic build philosophy. The GZ will power amp sub and all 6 speakers without issue, if you try that.
@chrismharthart
@chrismharthart 2 жыл бұрын
Ok. So when you wired it up the head unit front speakers stayed with the stock hook up. The amp sub and rear speakers are on aux power? I run my music all day. Just wondering if I should get another battery or if I can run that equipment from the GZ or what ever. Might have to be trial and error with some switches. Thanks
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
@@chrismharthart if you run music all day while parked, you should to a 100% auxiliary system to eliminate the auto shutoff and drain on van battery. The GZ 1500X will power a big system all day, easy. I have a nice system for high quality sounds when driving and limited time when parked. Otherwise, I pull out the JBL Bluetooth speaker.

Did you move the second row of seats back? If so, what was that process like?
@crowdtastic
@crowdtastic 2 жыл бұрын
never had a second row of seats. Its a cargo van. I installed the second row where i wanted it which i think is about 10in back from a stock passenger van. drilled through the frame to mount dealer sourced brackets so its a safe as stock.
