Our 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk got a flat in one of the rear tires the other day. Because of the Trailhawk's unibody construction, it took me about half an hour to figure out where to place the floor jack to change it. There also wasn't any of the tried and proven rearend housing to jack under either. I would love this Toyota for that full frame.

I miss my 2015 SR5. What a great truck! I never liked the Limited version; it looked too gussied up, like someone who'd had too much plastic surgery LOL. Amazing to see the advancements, like Toyota Safety Sense! Thanks for the great review.

Just picked up a 2021 Nightshade. Buying a car in late 2021 is/was not fun but....The 4runner is great, have owned several this one is by far the most advanced. Great truck. Wanted one again before any changes.

Great review. I'm leaning towards this vehicle, maybe getting a CPO Nightshade 2021 in 2022. A couple things irk me about the 4Runner. I wish you could disable 4WD and just have RWD when 4WD isn't needed...i.e., every other season but winter (at least where I'm from). This is nitpicking with some rhetorical questions but: Why not toggle buttons for driver / passenger heating / cooling? Press once for hottest/coldest, one more for medium, one more for low, then one more for off. Why no cross traffic alert? No Blind spot Monitoring? No Birdseye View camera system for parking like in other models?

It would've been even better if this SUV had an emergency breaking system if the driver made a mistake such as not paying attention on the road, or had some type of illness such as seizures, epilepsy, and etc.

As a former owner have been itching to get another but one thing I needed that the 4 runner doesn't offer on any of its trims and I don't know why....why the hell is there no blind spot monitoring?.....come on man...this is the 2020's about....we don't need to see the moron next to us in our blind spot and as with all 4 runners there is a massive one in the rear quarter which the early ones had at least the mirror on the wall to give you a hint.
