Only the Obsidian Blue Pearl comes with the Greystone leather interior. Good choice. That interior looks beautiful. I'm a fan of coloured interiors. My 2011 Acura TL has an Amber interior which is a fancy teen for brown. My 2013 Acura ZDX had the Parchment interior which is basically beige and my 2015 Acura TLX had the Parchment interior as well. The leather quality in these cars is phenomenal. After the TLX, I wanted something electrified with AWD and Acura didn't have anything so I got the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV GT. Also you get the cool red seats not available on any other package and I see a lot of people going for the A-Spec just for that. @@HighOnCars1 Got it. Wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me. Last question. What are your thoughts on what reliability might be like on this 2021? Isn't it the same engine & trans from the newest RDX? I don't know what reliability is like for that set-up. I heard the 2018-2020 V6 TLX has its issues with the trans and I'm hoping the 2021 will prove more reliable because I love what I've seen and would definitely consider a CPO 2021 AWD Advanced a year or so from now. You said in your video you've owned a number of Acuras, and you obviously know your stuff, so I'd value your input. Thanks again for a very enjoyable, detailed review!
@HighOnCars13 жыл бұрын
My 4th generation TL was bullet proof. Absolutely no issues. Excellent built quality and amazing fit and finish. It's 3.7 V6 wasn't good on gas and obviously doesn't have the technology the TLX does. My 1st generation TLX was overall a good car. Average built quality and fit and finish. Great on gas considering it was a 3.5 V6. No problems with the engine but the ZF sourced 9 speed did have issues which got better with a software update but never fixed. They resolved the issues in 2018 with the mid cycle refresh. This 2nd generation TLX is better in every way than the previous 2 I mentioned. Top notch built quality and fit and finish. It has an in-house transmission meaning it was built by Honda and has been out in the Accord for years without any reported issues. The 2.0 turbocharged engine is the detuned version of the Honda Civic Type R, also being used in the Accord for years now without any issues. There is a class action law suit against Acura regarding the RDX with the same setup as the TLX regarding stalling and sudden acceleration so you might wanna Google it. That being said, I didn't experience such issues during my test drive and think that Acura would have resolved any issues especially if they were widespread to warrant a class action law suit. As a rule of thumb, it's recommended NOT to get a car in its first model year and wait for the manufacturer to iron out the kinks and get it in the following year. Since, you want a CPO, you have plenty of time to wait for any issues that may arise.
@Austin-nx9vd3 жыл бұрын
@@HighOnCars1 Wow, I so appreciate your thorough and thoughtful answer. Everything you said makes perfect sense. I am REALLY loving this 2021 Advance (same exact one you reviewed here with SHAWD), but really can't warrant spending 50k on a new car, so I'm happy to wait a year or so until the CPOs start rolling out, which gives me time to keep an eye on what current owners are experiencing. Power wise very comparable to previous model V6 but sound wise...terrible. I still believe the Type S V6 should have been offered as the V6 replacement. They should have made the Type S twin turbo or dropped the RL hybrid power train in the Type S 377hp. The 3.0L turbo V6 should have been their regular V6 & maybe $3500-$5000 in price difference from their turbo 4!! Excellent review by the way 👏👍

@@HighOnCars1 totally agree but I just meant they already had a car with 377hp. Just upset that I need to jump to the Type S, extra $10,000, to get the V6. Both were almost equal power jumps from the previous 4cyl & V6. 66hp or so. I understand the Type S has advanced handling capabilities but that engine should have been in a non Type S V6. They could have even put the NSX twin turbo in Type S giving 500hp. Without the electric motors
@HighOnCars13 жыл бұрын
@@venom999333 The jump from the 4 cylinder to the V6 before was 84hp actually, not 66hp and now it's 83hp. The TLX type S is meant to compete with the Audi S4. Putting the 500hp TT V6 from the NSX in it would have made it an RS4/M3/C63s competitor but if they decide to made a TLX Type R, they can do that for sure. I guess they are testing the waters with the TLX Type S which is clearly very successful. I had the V6 first generation TLX and think the 2nd generation 4 cylinder TLX is much more fun to drive and the sound isn't a deal breaker. Also, they are trying to compete with Audi by giving a little bit more power at a lower price.

Man, I wonder if they make Manual for this one I bet the sales would be like hotcakes. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER BUY A 4 CYCLINDER ENGINE it breaks a lot faster.

The sales for manual transmissions are not enough to justify the development cost. I'm not a mechanic but there are tons of 4 cylinder cars from all brands still on the road a decade later.

It's a matter of preferences. If the dated interior of the IS is your thing, then go for it. Feel free to watch the video I made on the Lexus IS. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bLeWnKmDqMWaoY0.html
