The Golf R base price is actually more than the S3, which is very unusual 🤔

That is because the golf 8 R is the top of the golf specs. It is in fact somewhat between a S3 and RS3. for example: it got the RS3 torque splitter, which the S3 does not have.

The last golf r was known as the poor mans Audi S3 however this time it’s the other way around as the golf costs more, what’s your opinion on that

The Golf costs more but I still think Audi have the premium finish. Plus, it’s definitely the premium brand of the family. Golf R prices will come down eventually. Supply and demand I suspect is playing a part.

You don’t have to go into the menus to turn off the lane keeping aid, there is a button on the end of the indicator stalk!

The button on this one definitely didn’t do that. Very used to VAG button setups and it didn’t offer this. Our VRS, however, does. Very weird!

@@TheAutoDad strange one as l can see the button on the end of the stalk in the video! I use it all the time on my S3.

Yes the button was there but when clicked it went into a menu for ACC and nothing about driving assistants. I believe this was an early iteration so may have had some changes to come in the software.

To turn off the lane assist just push the button on the end of the indicator stalk, couldn’t be simpler 😁

See for me that didn’t work. The only option was digging into the menu. That button only worked when cruise was on and specific to the semi autonomous cruise function.
