The BMW s1000rr is probably one of the most impressive motorcycles on the market today. The 2021 BMW s1000rr M package specs are very impressive as you'd expect. With over 200hp and around 425 pounds out of he box, the power to weight ratio is like nothing else. With the BMW M Package, you also get the carbon fiber wheels which also add quite a bit of weight saving! This bike actually has all of the billet M package bits from the factory as well. BMW adjustable rear sets, foldable levers, M package adjustable gear shifter and other carbon fiber body panels such as the fenders and tank covers. This bike also has the TST Industries fender eliminator on it for the BMW s1000rr which really cleans it up! This video is my reaction of the 2021 BMW S1000rr sportbike after owning it for a month and putting around 2,000 miles on it. I'll most likely do another video once I hit certain milestones such as the bmw s1000rr maintenances and other things that go along with this bike.

I got to ride on at the track during my 2 day camp with California superbike school. I was most impressed with the bike. Seems to be very tough because once you done with your track session, the other student would get right on it and do their 17 minute session. That was just that two day camp, it does this all year round. So that's pretty damn good! Anyway, I did notice neutral was a chore to get as well. The bikes top end rush was nothing short of amazing! Wow!!

Hi from the UK! Thanks - nice review. I'm thinking about one of these or the '21 1000R, the RSV4 or the new Tuono V4 1100 so I have some nice test rides to look forward to! You mentioned the midrange flat spot but I think this only applies to U.S. bikes because of emissions and sound issues over thewse. Bikes sold in Europe do not have a flat spot and I think it's an easy fix for a dealer. Good luck with the bike and enjoy it.

To help your adaptability with the quick shifter at lower speeds and rpms, it’s throttle control On what helps shift it. Throttle open when you kick up or down should help. I try to not be dependent on it but with this bike being my first quick shifter, it’s hard to not use it
@SethMichael

For sure! i've noticed that as well. I've gotten better at it. Just somewhat frustrating because it seems to work just like my CBR did without a quick shifter. I'd just speed shift it and it felt just the same. lol.

Finding N sucks and is my biggest complaint. At 6’4”, when wearing a leather jacket, the mirrors are almost useless. Have to change the dash display every time I ride; I wish it would stay on instead of always going back to the one you were using. I also hate the tire pressure warning lights because I don’t ride with the 40lbs in the tires to turn the lights off. With all that being said, those are very minor things (other than finding neutral) and I am very happy with her. I live about 1 1/2 hrs from the Dragon and rider it almost every weekend. Let me know next time you’re up this way.

I'm still pretty new to the bike, so I haven't seen too much maintenance yet, but the first "break in" service was around $300. From what I've seen, $200 - $300 seems to be the typical cost for most interval services. Except for when you get into valve adjustments at higher miles. Personally, I haven't had any issues with my bike. I have to imagine they ironed out some issues with the 2021 year model. I have a 2020 M Package, standard spec. I bought it with 4K Km/2.5 K Miles, it now has 8K Km/5K Miles. One time it wouldn't start on a Sunday, it started Monday. Within two weeks the cylinder head was replaced under warranty and returned to me. I started it and parked it, an hour later it would not start. BMW collected and it started for them, they returned it to me. Another time it would not start and displayed a warning on the screen, Engine Management Failure, the battery was replaced. Two weeks ago it wouldn't start, a courier collected it and I tried to start it, and no way it would start. BMW told me it started ok, then would not start. All week it started fine, their demo bike has the same problem.

How is the bike for commuting? And how many miles you get for full tank in normal driving? Also how much it cost for service ? For 2 , 3 hours riding is it painful ? I like your review
@SethMichael
@SethMichael 3 жыл бұрын
For a sport bike, it's a dream for commuting! When I fill up, it tells me I have 140 miles until empty. I've never pushed it that for though and usually fill up at around 100-120 miles into a tank just to be safe. First service was around $300. Not entirely sure about the future ones though. As for long hours of riding, I'll know next week! I'll be on a mountain trip and I'll be spending full days on the bike for a week! I've spent a few full days riding locally and it hasn't been painful at all! Especially with the cruise control, you can relax a bit on the long, straight roads.

Personally, I love the carbon fiber! Not necessarily for performance, but IMO, gives it a nice "race" look. Especially in small quantities like on mine. The Carbon wheels though, I love how those feel in the corners. It's hard to explain, but it's as if the carbon wheels give ALL control back to the rider. Less rotational mass which would typically try to pick you back up when leaning over, if that makes sense.

There's a bunch of differences, but the big thing I'd have to say is power delivery. The duc is going to have tons of torque with the v4. super snappy. If I was to choose a v4 bike, I'd actually lean more towards the Aprilia rsv4 as I think it's a bit smoother than the duc. The bmw is just a well tuned machine. Smooth and great for those who enjoy riding the streets, but also want a machine that can take on the track. The Duc also throws a lot of heat. So if you're at a red light, be ready to sweat. lol.

Here is a list of items I found to be sub-par on the new S1000RR besides what you already mentioned. 1. Mirrors are useless as they vibrate so much in lower RPM ranges. Can't tell if there is a school bus or a mini driving behind you. 2. Engine vibrations are alot more than on any CBR1000RR 3. TFT is a bit slow to react to inputs 4. Speed limit on TFT screen is wrong about 90% of the time. 5. Can not adjust electric aids unless you are in Rider Pro modes. If you are in rider pro modes you can no longer use any of the media or navigation aids. All that being said, I still love the bike and would buy it again :)

I agree with all of these! In my raw gopro footage, I'm always seen holding my mirror still when I'm checking my gopro for the red blinking light. lol. I'd always recommend going with something smaller like a 300cc or maybe a 600cc, and something a little less expensive. Then upgrade once you get more comfortable and know for sure if you really like the whole motorcycle thing. Honda vs BMW, not even in the same planet to compare the two….have you ever owned or rode a newer Ducati Panigale?

I don't disagree. lol. But I've put the most miles on the two. I have ridden a v4s my buddy had a couple years ago. Great bike and all the pulling power in the world!! Also a monster s4r which I really liked for a naked bike.
