Finally pulled the trigger on this renntech “EVM” (exhaust valve module). I’ve been eying one since deciding on the C63s and finally found one for a decent price. Check out how easy this mod is to install & the difference it makes to the exhaust without having to do any major modifications or cutting to the exhaust. This simple plug & play device gives you the ability to electronically control the valves that open and close to control the sound of the exhaust. From initial expectations I imagined it to be a major difference which it is but after having it on for a week I only notice a louder/deeper sound at idle & lower speeds. It is definitely sounding more open at higher speeds & Revs but if you are looking for a more pronounced loud or obnoxiously loud exhaust a down pipes or straight pipe would be your better option but if this is of interest for you then this video will help you understand how to install this module & the difference it makes to help you decide what your needs are.

Finally a proper install video for us non electrical noitalls… im incompentany when it comes to fixing or fitting anything but this made it a lot easier. Now i just need to order mine and install it.

Does the button on the console not function anymore when you install this? Do you have to only use the fobs that came with the kit?

Great question. You can switch back to the stock functions so it’s totally customizable and reversible without removing the module. If you want to use the module it will be 100% on won’t be able to change it on the center console. If you turn the module off with the remote you can then use the stock buttons again either as you switch through modes or balance / powerful. Hope that answers your question.

If you still have your stock exhaust valves then yes it’s worth it if you’ve already cut all that out or put a whole new exhaust then it wouldn’t do anything for you

I don't understand these valve kits? I thought the whole point of dynamic drive select is that when you are in race or even sport+ the valves are open all the time? So do you even need this if you drive it in Race or Sport+ mode? I'm picking my 2021 C63s coupe up next week and want to do some work on the exhaust (with it being the 2021 model it will come with OPF that muffles the sound a little) but I'd just been looking at doing a straight forward resonator delete? Should I be getting this as well? (please help lol)

Valves only open 70% need to delete the muffler or unhook the chip/device for 100% open but then you can’t control it for when you switch to quiet. Just depends on what options you want and the restrictions that follow.

Did u manage to get your valves fully open? I tried the EVM on my CLA 45 and the right side only opened roughly around 70-80% max for some reason..

Yeah my has had no issues. Still works good , only had one time where it wasn’t activating but once I stopped and turned the car back on it reset

facelift looks beautiful but pre-face sounds meaner. Get downpipes to remove opf filters.

I have k&n drop ins , as far as downpipes I still can’t convince myself to modify it that way still want to keep it stock in a way with the way the value is rising. RIP V8s

Great video! Beautiful car! definitely needs lowering and spacers on the wheels to give it that mean/aggressive look to it. Adding the downpipes and a E30 tune would make it a complete race car

Sounds enticing if you put it that way. Idk I’m still satisfied with the stock look. I did go wider tires so that filled in the gaps more so I could avoid lowering. It’s not worth it here in Atlanta, between hilly backroads & pothole highways 😅

Same process but it may need a different coded module probably can’t use this module I got for the c63s

Nothing tbh, just brand. All the device is , is a bypass wire / switch. I just went for the best price I could find between the two. Still works great. More videos coming

Yeah bro I spent around the same money as you for the Module. Didn’t really make the car any louder besides cold start.

Maybe your expectations of louder may be more ? Idk I can definitely notice a difference with loudness & pops but if you like screaming loud exhausts then yeah I can see why the module wouldn’t satisfy you.

Yes but it’s not what everyone thinks it is. It’s just an electronically controlled valve that you can “control” but it’s limited per the ECU. the valve only opens 70%, 90% of the time & 100% when you are at high revs and high speeds which is only for a few seconds or minutes. No one on civilian roads is driving like they are on a track the entire time. So what this EVM does is fully bypass the ECU and leaves the valve 100% open or 100% closed or lets you go back to stock settings and let the ECU control it. Without having to cut or change any parts it’s just a plug and play

@@DG-kl4fg cat delete doesn’t have any impact to the valves they are located more towards the rear / mufflers. If you do a cat delete & add this valve control it would be 100% loud all the time.

Not worth the $780 ( current price at RENNtech!). It’s only ever so slightly louder at lower RPMs and there is definitely some droning is felt in the cabin ( that is why Benz didn’t open it all the way in the first place). Again $780 for Meh!

eBay, but it’s been a few years so doesn’t surprise me that it’s increased in price. Keep looking though might find one. I looked for about 6 months before I found one for that price
