And to their point about following a man instead of Jesus, I guess they were worshiping someone other than Jesus at some point? That’s all I’ve got. Very very odd.

Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance! Let's not stifle these artists that praise God in a different genre and would reach a part of this generation that other genres will never be able to reach. At the end of the day, Jesus is being glorified. Just my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show. Loved the diversity. By the love we show one for the other, men will know that we are his disciples and glorify our Father which is in heaven. You thought that there should have been more praise....but there was though. Just not in the way we would have boxed it into over the past years. Listen to KB's speech. He is serving the Lord today because of a rap album. Man, God is reaching people all over the world in the way that He desires to. Let's continue to pray for all of our gospel artistes that they stay true to God and never water down the truth. Appreciate your opinion though.

Please read deeper into your Bible. Look at how David danced before the Lord (somewhere in 1 Kings I think). Look at Jesus' first miracle: turning water into WINE at a wedding celebration. And of course we know the JOY of the Lord is our strength. So... Don't box your idea of God into cold, serious religion. Jesus came so that we may live life to the FULL (remaining in him of course).

Just because YOU don’t prefer, or don’t like, the package in which the Gospel of Jesus comes in, doesn’t mean that it’s any less effective for the Kingdom, or that it doesn’t give Jesus praise to glorify HIS name. What’s more disappointing is that you made this statement, and that the whole message of the Dove Awards went right over your head-and not into your heart. Remember, praise is NOT a musical category, a genre, or about you and your “preferences.” Praise is not a certain type of artist. Praise is praise when it lifts up a Person. And that is Jesus. And that is certainly what Christian Hip Hop is doing. Praying for you. God bless.

How else do you reach a generation (now multiple generations) that listen to rap and hip hop and are obsessed with dancing? We’ve prayed for laborers to get the harvest, God has sent them. Dove is just giving them a platform to reach more people and honoring what God is doing in their ministries.

The theme for the dove awards was better together, a coming together of different genres & generations for the glory of God, testimonies were given of how christian hip hop led to people giving their lives to Christ, how did you miss that?
