The fire took all the temper out of the chassis rails. Sadly you'll have problems down the road. If you're towing any type of heavy trailer with that, it's going to flex it.

If the heat from the fire truly caused the frame to sag, (which it definitely could) your right the frame is no good, show truck, daily driver at best. Wouldn’t tow anything with it.

Recommend y'all do a frame overlay at the weak spot with another piece of frame rail and secure it with high tolerance, low clearance bolts only. No welding. That will put an end to anymore flexing. Plus you'll have a stronger frame. Keep up the good work and thanks for real, truthful videos so viewers get to see the real McCoy in these projects.

There were tons of people in the comments when you were talking about using the fire damaged frame to make sure that the frame wasn't bent from the fire before using it. These comments were ignored. Fire hot enough to do the damage that truck had will be compromised and never have the strength and flexibility a truck like this will need. You put one super heavy load on that frame and it might give.

Agree....unless a person has a metallurgical background and knows the limitation of the steal used in this frame, I would not jump to conclusions. Just because the frame was heated does not mean it has lost ability to hold or tow a load, frames are heated, welded and patched frequently

I like that your channel shows when things don't go quite as planned. Yes, the heat probably warped the frame but I'm not one to panic. If the frame rails were cracked at the stress points it would be a concern. The good thing is you know what to look for concerning catastrophic failure. Great job keeping an upbeat prospective.

I didn't think the frame was going to be off that much. It got so hot it slumped in the middle. Now the correction is taking place at the end of the blocks, not where it slumped from the fire. No matter how you look at it, that frame is compromised, especially now, because it's deformed in 2 places. I would've just shimmed the box mounts and called it good.

Whenever I'm working near the radiator, I always cut a piece of corrugated cardboard and block the rad with it. After I dropped an end wrench and it brushed the rad on the way to the ground, and then the rad started leaking, I promised myself I'd never work around the front of the engine without cardboard protecting the rad. That was about 30yrs ago. Those aluminum rads are very fragile.
