Appreciate it man. I hoped it would help and be more informative than what I’ve seen. Someone commented it wasn’t a review because I didn’t drive it… he said it was just a demonstration of features??? I’m not sure I agree with that? It was a review of features and benefits. Anyway, I don’t think you get much from a driving video aimed at the guy talking while he/she drives. You can’t really tell what it feels like from watching a driver drive and talk. The only way I think a driving video gives much detail is when it’s something taken off-road with cameras in and outside of the vehicle, even close ups from a third person perspective. That’s my thoughts. What are you’re thoughts? Since the video seemed to help you a little. Would you think it would have been better if I drove it like that? That’s kind of what I was trying to get away from unless it was more of an off-road driving demo from all perspectives.

The bed inside is virtually the same. The only difference is that top bulk head to the frame of it by the cab that is thinner. That caused the track lengths of bed covers to need changed unfortunately, but it did zero to add space to the bed.

'17, '18 seats were all leather and really nice. '18,'19' added cloth inserts which looked cheap to me. Stitching on my '19 started failing at 10K and ford didn't have a good warranty solution other than an upholstery shop.. These look better but I wish they would ditch the cloth insert idea.

Well technically it’s designed as a high speed desert dune jumping beast. However, sand and snow have similar characteristics if you think about it, with the exception that snow can pack and harden. However in the desert, you may have rocks which are hardened and sand. In general, the large wide tires with heavy tread grab snow, and ice just about as well as they do sand. You can dig a hole in sand by spinning the tires to hard too fast just like you can snow. You can get stuck in a sand rut and need 4 wheel drive in both, and you can certainly lose control in high speed corners as sand in quantity can be fluid (movement) just like snow. All that said, I live in the Midwest and we get snow and with the 4 wheel drive capability, big tires and suspension, I think it out performs just about anything. You can always add a winch if you think you might get stuck. John

@@jtrischler Hey, thanks for the substantive reply. I waited so long to decide, that now, ordering F150's is problematic, so many chips and other things not available. I even think I saw somewhere that Ford was stopping making the F150 line until the supply issued cleared up. If that's true, than I may end up going for a very recent late model used instead, but one that has all the stuff in it. I am a little concerned about the extra 5" width being wider than the snow tracks on highways for instance made by cars of normal width. If you've ever driven on highways during snow storms, it tends to be fine while you are in a lane, but changing lanes things get wishy washy, slippery, and i am concerned with that extra 5" on the width it would never get into the groove and would always be a big slippy slidey on highways in snow storms. What brought this concern to my attention was a youtube video of this vehicle off road in the woods in some hardened ruts, and instead of tracking well within the ruds, it was forever sliding up and down both sides of the ruts. It was actually more of a concern than the once instance in that video where the tracks went between two trees that were so close that the driver had to nearly stop and inch forward to make sure the trees didn't knock of the side mirrors trying to get thru. I loved that extra 5" on the width, until these two concerns came up, primarily the snowstorm one. This has opened me up to consider the Tremor which is only 1" wider than normal, but sadly the Tremor only has springs in the front and has leafs in the rear, while the Raptor has springs both front and rear. Apparently part of the reason the Raptor has been identified as the smoothest driving pick up on highway driving in the market (Though I have heard the Tremor isn't bad).

Yeah, tough decision. What made up my mind was the fact that it would be just barely too tall to fit in the garage, as well as the blue seats that come with the package. Someone pointed out that the blue seats wouldn't be required for the 37 package in 22, but I haven't confirmed that. The last was the taller tires. Where it may have even more cushion (but it doesn't need more) the taller the sidewall, the less responsive on pavement on hard cornering at higher speeds. In life, everything has trade offs. It just depends on what your preferences are.

No, unfortunately Ford made it the light blue only as of about 2018, but you can turn it on or off and adjust the brightness.

@@drevenaguilar8598 Hey Dreven. So Ford eliminated the 802A code. They didn’t eliminate the trim level though. In the previous generation, they had 800a base, 801a middle and 802a premium. This Gen, they just have 800a base and 801a premium. So the 801a is the same as the 802a used to be. They just simplified it. They could have just had 800a and 802a, but I think they just thought it was cleaner to have 800a and 801a. So great question. They just trimmed that mid level out. In fact, even that base model 800a has more content. It’s probably closer to what the old 801a used to be.

No. That's not a real thing yet. Google and Tesla have been working on that for vehicles. It does have their "Co-Pilot 360" type of adaptive cruise control which supposedly will be capable of some future updates. I am not sure how autonomous it is capable of becoming in the future with just updates. There will be a lot of regulations, requirements and probably updates to roadways and infrastructure before that becomes a common thing. The Adaptive cruise and "Co-Pilot 360" features have sensors so that when on cruise control, they will slow down when vehicles in front of you do, and even come to a stop and start moving again when the vehicle in front of you does. All without touching the pedal. You still need to steer though. However, with the lane keeping system, it somewhat can stay within the lines if you take your hands off the wheel for a moment. I wouldn't trust that though. I think that's what the updates will probably be able to improve. The lane keeping technology. So you can put it on CC and take your hands off the wheel for a short bit in some situations, but it isn't 100% there yet. Also, if you come to a stoplight and someone ISN'T in front of you. It won't stop. So lots of upgrades in those areas and that's the way vehicles are moving, but as a whole, no one has perfected that technology for public use yet.

Well, I can't speak as to how they compared it? Or if they had a preproduction model that maybe wasn't tuned the same or not. All I can say is, I have owned a 2017, the 2019 and put several miles on both, as well as driven and sold Hundreds and Hundreds of them when I ran that department at a dealership, including the 2010-2014's with the Roush Supercharged V8 package and the 17+. Of them, I can personally attest that the new gen feels a lot faster, and more responsive. Very visibly so. I can also say, that added performance and better shifting comes at a cost of about 1mpg.. but not a big deal. I would rather have the power. So the claim that it performs better is from PERSONALLY experience. I didn't dyno test them. I just drove them. However, there is no question that a GT500 type supercharged V8 in a Raptor R will be much faster. The question is, who will be able to afford one? Let alone find one available. (Trust me, I would rather have the V8 all day long) That truck will no doubt be awesome! But with this model coming out between $80,000 and $85,000 loaded up.... With many dealers charging $5k-10K over sticker... I would venture to guess the MSRP on the Raptor R to be no less than $100,000. Remember, the Shelby GT500 track (R) model was like $102k MSRP with the normal one around $80k. However, that GT500 Track model sold at dealers for an average of $25k-30k over MSRP. You also have a great point with the 37's. Those tires will absolutely reduce high speed performance and fuel economy. Often people don't understand that just because it is an option you can check off, doesn't mean it is the best option for you, or even a step above. The 37 model has a purpose. It is a more capable desert dweller and rock climber, etc. For most though, who want an awesome road queen, those 37's are larger, and heavier and require more power for the motor and axles to turn those wheels, and therefore eat up more fuel and rob some end use power and acceleration. Also, the taller the tire, the more flex. So hard cornering ability is reduced in a 37 over a 35. With anything, its give and take. You can put low profile tires on 20" wheels and it will out corner a 17" wheel with 35's... but it won't have a soft ride. The Raptor, with it's Fox suspension and tall tires ride better and smoother than any truck I have ever ridden in, but how much is enough and how much is too much? It all depends on how you want to use it and what the benefits vs the trade offs are. The 37" sits higher and has a different stance, but it's all in what your buying it for. On a side note, since we are discussing motors, and the Raptor R and the GT500 R. I am sure you all saw the Lightning that is coming in 2022? That all electric engine makes major power. In fact, it's ironic that Ford brought out the GT500 in 2020 and claimed it made more power than any Mustang... Then this year, they came out with the Mustang Mach E GT Performance Edition. It is supposed to be even faster 0-60 with an all electric motor. So mark my words... In a couple years, they will have an All electric motor Raptor. I don't know if they will have a gas motor option initially at the same time? or if they will just switch over completely... But the Mach E is the start of that transition for the Mustang... and the Lightning will be that transition for the Raptor... I have a Mach E GT Performance Edition due in at the end of October. I am pretty excited to check it out. I am concerned about the change in thought though, as you need to prepare to charge batteries, etc... but the range is supposed to be about 230 miles.

TFL 🤣🤣 ... same guys that just had PaxPerformance 2021 conversion F150 into Raptor with 770HP (Whipple Supercharger Coyote 5.0L) and they couldn't get more then 5.16 seconds 0-60 out of it. Same truck in Hennessey hands does 4.1 seconds 0-60. These guys driving skills are a joke.

@@jtrischlerit's a 21, I ordered it on June 6th and still waiting for it. If you get the most expensive rims then you get the blue seats I believe. I got the middle rims black seats.

@@JoshWalker. This is false, You could never order a 21 with 37s and black seats. You can only with a 22. You could order a 35 with the beadlocks and black seats, but not the 37 package.

LOL, well it depends on if they put a quiet restrictive exhaust on it.. lol I have seen that happen over the years... But, the good news is, the V8 should also have an adjustable exhaust with open loud modes as well as quiet so you don't wake up your neighbors in the morning.. lol

Every single vehicle has plastic. Look at $90K TRX and whole front facia ... nothing but plastic. Look at TRX screen surround ... semi glossy black, cheese looking plastic like in $25K Chevy Cruz.

Two things 1st Dodge had better start making something right. 2nd the TrX gas mileage is poop

This is a feature review. We like to break things up in segments. I’ve done videos that have features and test drives in one. There are 2 issues. Either they are way too long (I think this one is already around 30 min?) or you try to cram too much into the same time and don’t show all the features. So for most broadcasters that try to really cover the detailed features and information, I think it’s good to break those two up. Especially since there are some people who only want to see the driving, and would only watch that video. The ones trying to figure out all the features and options to buy one would prefer one. Maxed out on those details like this, but they also may watch the other. We will continue to bring out many new videos.
