I imagine a 1:18 figure line based on the new Ghostbusters movie will eventually become available to go with this vehicle. Would be nice of they did a 1:18 range of the old school characters.

This is meant to be a detailed out ecto-1 as it appears in afterlife. Would be great if they did, but do not get your hopes up

Yes. Does seem a tad unlikely, I supppse. It look's like there's a seatbelt sculpted on the gunner's chair? If so, that would get in the way of a figure sitting in it properly. Still a cool car, though. Hopefully we might see some people doing it real justice with a bit of custom work.

Crazy that the Plasma series has been so detailed and awesome so far, including the amazing crown jewel that is Spengler's Nutrona Wand, yet they completely dropped the ball with this one. I hope there's a scaled Afterlife line, but we really needed one to fit the Plasma figures.

Calling it part of the plasma series yet too small to fit the figures makes zero sense at all. It seems like Hasbro are banking on people just buying from its description and not watching reviews first. Very poor from them! Just imagine all those parents buying it for their kids as a present and then the impending disappointment of the figures not fitting.

Nobody has room for that size of a vehicle., and stores are not going to stock that massive of a vehicle.. that’s more of a haslab project..

@@retrorampage9015 that seems more like an excuse. I see tons of collectors buying vehicles that can fit hot toys. Usually people find a way to make room. Also this use to be a regular thing back in the day. I remember I had an ecto 1 as a kid that could fit all 4 Ghostbusters. Had a TMNT van that could fit all the turtles. And even a robocop figure that had a cop car you could buy. And if stores wouldn't carry them. Just make them online available only.

@@retrorampage9015 the 90's animated Ghostbusters were about the same size as the plasma collection. I still have those. Figures may be bigger. But there's companies that still make vehicles for 12 inch figures. The hot toys vehicles for example. There's not that many people in the market for those yet they still make them. At least hasbro and other companies like Neca can make cheaper ones. It's not that hard. And I don't want to hear about Space being an issue when so many collectors these days impulse buy everything under the sun. Literally, not to mention the amount of collectors who would love and always voice their want for vehicles to fit these size figures.

I got the entire Ghostbusters plasma series figures today. The toy store had the ECTO-1…. I didn’t get it because I wasn’t sure if it was to scale. Have watched this and THANK YOU!!!! Not getting this. Great review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I decided to return mine. It’s a bummer that you can’t use it with any Ghostbusters line and I’m not too fond of the thick black paint on the front of a lot of them. Yours is actually better looking than most.

Just picked this up at target. Was a random find I wasn't expecting. To be completely honest I'll end up painting it and detailing alot of it myself..."weathering" these days on current vehicles by hasbro and many others consists of blotching some brown here and there. There's alot of really cool opportunity here like adding lights, sounds ect, to make a really cool unique custom. I have a video up of a custom boba fett I made on my profile. Definitely hooking this one up. Probably post a video of results sometime in the future.

I'm still wondering why they went with the afterlife ecto instead of the original ecto from 84 since the figures are from 84. Also, why isnt it scaled for the figures to fit? That is a missed opportunity.

@@devoncrestway338 I have a friend that is HEAVY into GB (built his own Proton packs and wands for he and his wife, as well as building their own Ecto), and he says that's what they're hearing in the GB fandom. Hasbro also isn't known to spend the kind of money on a mold like this and NOT have it scale with something else they can sell. They DID also have a 3 3/4 in Star Wars line they labeled Black Series when they launched the 6" line, so this being labelled "Plasma Series" isn't as odd as some might think.

I rly hope hasbro continues the plasma series theme, i missed out on the diamond select figures so i hope hasbro can top that line with better figures, diorama pieces (gozers temple) and figure scale ecto 1s. I would get this ecto-1 if you could fit the figures inside and it was the classic 1984 version

This is a great vehicle. Funny thing, my version has a WHOLE lot more of the black spray paint on the front. About 1/4 of the hood is black, like the engine exploded or something.

This Afterlife Ecto has given me hype & anxiety again. I can't handle the film potentially being delayed again. I just can't see it being safe enough to release Afterlife on June 10th, 2021. Another delay will send me over the edge.

When mine arrived in the mail, the front end had a large amount of rust over spray. I mean a Huge Amount to where the rust brown is half way up the hood and side panels. Then when I found out it doesn’t fit to scale with the plasma series figures , I was hit with disappointment.

The back left door isn't supposed to open on movie Ecto-1. There's equipment up against it. 2 people sit on the rear right side with one facing backwards (which has become the gunner seat).

Looks cool! $50 sounds too much after remember paying $35 for the Ecto-1 and $60 for the Ecto-1A from Playmobil. Those two also had lights, sounds, and fitting figures.

sometimes the toy rights are divided up by scale, so hasbro may not be able to do a larger scale ecto cause eagalmoss has the scaling rights for larger ecto

Would love to see a Plasma series 3 3/4" line come when the movie releases to fit with this. I get it. "It's a collectible." But really, per the close up shots of what I'm seeing here, nothing about this screams collectible quality. While it's certainly more detailed than the RGB Ecto and the XGB Ecto, the level of detail on this looks pretty on par for a toy based on a live action movie, not really a collectible. I may also just be dreaming because I'd rather see movie figures come out at Plasma series detail versus the new Fright Features line I've seen on other videos.. Either way, it's neat to see new stuff in stores!

Looks awesome. Maybe they'll do a 1/12 scale version as a Haslab project? It definitely wouldn't be the same cost as Unicron or the Sentinel. But the Marvel crew said they were considering smaller Haslab projects in the future. So maybe this could happen. I suppose it depends on how well the movie does and subsequently how well the line does after the movie comes out.

I just started collecting the plasma series (have the whole afterlife line sans the 2-pack and all 4 of the classic GB) and I am really disappointed that they made this 1/18 scale instead of the 1/12 scale like the figures.

If they came out with Ghostbusters figures that fit, I would buy it. But right now, I wouldn't spend the money.

Just a random thought: Considering that the new movie characters are kids (ie. shorter) perhaps that's a way this will eventually scale with some figures from the line.

@@ToyShiz Sure, I'm just saying if there are potential plasma series figures in the pipe that would be say half the height of an adult character, that may be the thinking here. Maybe I'm off base and it is purely a cost savings thing (which I'm sure is the big factor at play regardless.)

To bad they didn't size it up to the figures . Either way I may still pick one up until they wise up and put another one out that works with the figures.
