Shootout between my 1979 Dean, 1975 Gibson, 1981 Gibson, and the new 2021 Gibson 70's Flying V!
Guitar playing starts at 13:56.
I recorded a rhythm with each guitar and then played leads over them with the same guitars to give you an idea of how they each sound.
The rig used is as follows;
Rhythm: VHT Deliverance 120, ISP Decimator II, MXR M77 OD, Kirk Hammett wah.
Leads: Monomyth JCM800 Blood&Thunder, Same pedals listed above.
Audio recorded using Two Notes Torpedo using builtin cab sim. Tracks are doubled, that's it. Everything is one take and off the cuff.

I really enjoyed this video! My fav guitars are the LP, V and Explorer. I bought a Gibson 70’s White V today at a GC in Allentown PA. The guitar feels good! I play more classic rock than metal. I can make up for pickup output with my pedals and volume control, if needed. I’m a Boeing 767 Captain. I Uber’d to a local GC while on a 3 hour turn in Allentown. So far, happy with my new toy! The hard part is how I convince my wife I paid $299.00 for this thing. I’m 61 and still like to ROCK. I wish all you guitar players well. 😊

Got one of the 70's re-issues at the end of 2020. Didn't care for the pickups at first, but now I love them. They are excellent for recording as well. Definitely a keeper! Highly recommend them to anyone who's looking. Great video! Judging by your channel views, you should do more videos talking about/Showing off your guitars. Since this one has done so well. You've got some killer gear that would make a lot of interesting videos

Gibson shipped 1974 V’s as well as ‘75s . . And I cringe every time I hear your rings nick the guitars 😬 The black one is nice though . Rock on

I found the most versatile pickups for Gibson Vs and Explorers are either dirty fingers or 500T/496R .. they are monstrous sounding pups perfect for thrash and other types of metal. Very informative vid and great playing

@@USMC_BABE38 depends on your style of playing. If you want it for hard rock/metal then get the one with 500T/496R. I don't think Gibson sell those anymore you have to get them secondhand

Liked the sound of the 70s reissue the most, 2nd was the dean....that thing SCREAMS, 3rd was the red Gibson, 4th was the black one with EMGs. EMG pickups sound so dull and muffled to me, never understood why they were the go-to metal pickup because they sound very sterile IMHO.

For me?? It's the 900lb single humbucker sunburst cream guard in the room.😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍😍🥰😍 I'm assuming that's a Dean. Whatever it is,..?...?..I must have it!!😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰 One of the most beautiful explorer style guitars my eyes have ever seen.

I just got my 70s throwback Gibson V and I’m wondering??? it looks identical to the flying V James Hetfield started out with did Gibson basically just copy that guitar which I know wasn’t a Gibson but when James bought it he thought it was after looking at a bunch of photos of his original white V it appears to be almost exactly the same as the Gibson 70s throwback anybody have any thoughts on that?

Het’s was a knockoff V made in Japan. Gibson was the original designer of the V.

Those “70’s” V’s are a complete joke and Gibson should be ashamed of themselves. That headstock makes me wanna vomit profusely. I’ll take my real 82 any day.
