Great review! Gone are the days of 180hp tops 4-cylinders. So glad turbos are in everything. That Santa Fe is really justifying the 40k sticker.

"You do get some storage behind each front seat" -- Wrong! Only passenger seat! For some reason, Hyundai decided to save 10$ by removing the map pocket being the driver seat.

Not loving the wheels too much, as compared to the ones on my wife’s 2020 Santa Fe Limited which seem nicer. The wheels on the Calligraphy trim are really nice.

I just went and test drove a Hyundai Santa FE earlier this afternoon, I tried to test drive the limited trim which might be the one i'd get, but the dealership had just sold the last limited trim they had on their lot and did not know when there next shipment of Limited trim levels would come in. so I had to do the test drive in a lower trim level. but I did enjoy how it drove and I also test drove the Tucson while there and after test driving both those vehicles back to back, the Santa Fe for me would be the choice I'd go with as I felt kind of cramped in the Tucson.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed the one feature that got me to consider a Hyundai product is the use of the remote to pull out the vehicle if in a tight spot or about to park in a tight spot to not bash the door against another object.

Tailgate operation. You do not need the fob button or tailgate button to operate. Just stand behind it with the fob in your pocket.

any issues with jerky acceleration? The one i test drove, felt like the turbo was either on or off, not linear at all. Huge turn off, very jerky acceleration. throttle response is not linear?

I was looking at the tuscon but it seems a little cheap(seat comfort etc...) compared to the Santa fe. I'm definitely looking to get this especially with the highway driving assist feature. Im not sure if you mentioned that but that is the selling point for me.

I test drove the Tucson, its seats were very cheap and thin and Santa Fe isnt too higher up. Santa fe is definitely the better choice here

When you remote start it, do the front and rear parking lights continuously flash while the car is running? This does this on the Palisades and previous SF models...it's very annoying!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I just bought this Santa Fe and asked my dealer to install one because I just bout a Santa Fe and Palisade the same day. They quoted me $880. Crazy. Said labor was $150 an hour and would take 2 hours to install. Told them to keep it.

I don't believe so. You'll see illuminations like that on Audi and Mercedes models. I don't think Hyundai has done that yet.

Question: why can't mainstream vehicles like this with a full LCD gauge cluster display the full map like the Audi virtual cockpit? Can anyone name a main stream SUV (or sedan for that matter) with a full LCD gauge cluster that can display the map like the center infotainment screen displays the map?

Well that's why you pay more for a luxury brand like Audi. Things like that will be in normal cars maybe in 5 years. But the fancy things always start at the more expensive brands and slowly make their way to normal brands

I’ve had my sonata for about 10 years & The troubles I’ve had with it (though it’s still running pretty well) Are more electrical problem. The dome light in the front no longer automatically turns off and my lock in one of my back door no longer closes automatically. Since I am out of warranty, they would have to charge me a few hundred dollars just to fix it up. I’ve been comparing the Toyota Venza and the Santa Fe and I’m torn between the two

I don't think the "light bar" connecting the taillights is actually a LED light bar....just a design feature for looks....last I checked it doesn't actually light up....unless they've changed that since its debut of the production model...

That's my concern, looking to get a used 2021 Limited in 2024. BUT, I've read so many things about the jerky transmission especially creeping along in heavy traffic, with the "wet dual clutch". I think Hyundai (and Kia) have had to pull a great number of these transmissions....

I'm not sure. Most cars you have to tap the start button and it will turn on the electronics.

Does the Santa Fe Limited 2.5T model include as standard all safety features? What do you advise - AWD or FWD for 2.5T? Why? Where is the spare tire?

Yeah this one had all the safety features. I’d assume nearly all are standard on this. I had no issues with the FWD with torque steer or anything. Felt nice. But if you have a lot of snow in your area. Can’t hurt to opt for AWD

There is no spare tire...they give you a repair kit and hyundai roadside assistance

I'm not sure with this. But in my Supra I was able to code out that feature to where it defaults to the off position. So if I want to use it, I can turn it off. But I keep it off 99% of the time

I drive one but its better than the predecessor if not more luxurious. grill and lights shaped very similar to GMC acadia. little design changes made this mid class family car into poorman's GV80

What state is that? Just bought a 2021 and found out there is no lift jack or spare due to some regulation about fuel efficiency. We searching for jack and spare to add on ourselves.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I'm in Maryland. Seems most of the new vehicles don't have them. There have been news articles about it. We are trying to work with the dealership but they don't seem to be able to do much. The sold us a donut spare but no jack kit. There is a space under the vehicle for a tire but they said there is no way to secure the tire. I love the truck but this has been frustrating.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed In GB we used to get the 2.2 diesel with 204hp and an 8DCT. We don’t have that anymore but Hyundai is still selling it in Australia. Now we get hybrid power trains.

Well Mike filmed the Palisade so I didn’t even look at it 😂. But if you get the same trim and options they should be the same. Just the size is what sets them apart

Great car …. but. I’m reaching out to fellow 2021-22 Santa Fe Calligraphy owners. (2.5 T w/HTRAC) I’m vexed; the Radiator fan will randomly run at full speed for 1-2 mins. after I turn the engine off. The Dealer can’t find any sensor defects in the diag. We live in a mild climate; the engine is not being taxed when this happens. This can’t be normal. Is anyone out there experiencing this issue too? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated - Rick

Honestly I've seen many other cars that do that. My Supra would do that quite a bit, same with my brothers R8. Don't worry about it. Just means the fan is keeping the radiator cooler

Have you tested the hybrid version? I test drove both hybrid and 2.5T and the 2.5T felt much noisier. You somewhat hear the engine a lot at highway speed, don't you think?

Review was well done, but - honestly..... during the drive, this SUV sounds like a truck, and word has it that it rides like one. Loud.... booming loud, and I've noted the same in other KZfaq Santa Fe reviews. Hyundai/Kia STILL can't get it done suspension-wise. Why?

So all they can do drive straight with button, how about tight parking lot that we have not seek to do so? They can't do themselves or they will hit the car in the back/front that they have not smart enough tech like German cars unless we have to settle wheel straight back in order to operate that function.....

That's what the purpose of this button is for, tight parking situations. You can use it to pull the car out far enough to get in, or use it to put the car into a spot. It's a really cool feature to see on this Hyundai.

@@silvervuong4135 It was actually one of the first questions I had. But according to the dealership I ordered mine, it doesn't have auto park for parking in parallel/perpendicular spots. In other words it only has Remote Smart Park Assist but not Smart Park Assist. A bit of a shame for such a big car.

When I said bigger, I wasn't meaning bigger displacement. I was just using that term loosely implying this car has the more powerful engine. This has the 'big boy' engine in it vs the N/A 2.5.

Again, the term 'bigger' can be used in many ways in the spoken word. For me, I'll use that word just meaning its the more powerful engine. Not necessary implying its a physically larger engine. But this engine has a turbo bolted onto it. So it technically is a bigger engine. It will weigh more and take up more overall volume ;)

Hyundai is giving the costumers what they really want with all these features for a decent price and good warranty. Watch out Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV-4. The only thing i dont like much is the grill, is too big.

Why is there a jack in your Limited model.. I have a canister of what really is fix a flat goop and a compressor NO spare tire which will prevent me from buying this car again. UNLESS you can tell me that the spare tire set up is available...There's room underneath the chassis for a spare... Just no mechanism to raise and lower and store one. SO why does THIS car in your video have a JACK?????

Well this is just a review on the specs and features. I don't own the car so I can't say what's bad about the car. If I owned it and daily drove it, then I could have a better understanding. But only the owner can decided that since everyone will like/dislike different things.

This may sound hard to believe but I left my keys inside the car a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe when I came back 30 minutes later the car locks itself up with my keys inside of it now I don't know how to get into it this is the worst design ever why would it lock itself with the keys inside of it what a poor design I would never buy one of these again

Obviously its vinyl. Most cars these days, even luxury brands use vinyl. Not much is ever real leather. But I just ay leather now because it's synthetic leather. It's trying to look like leather

I own one - nice vehicle- but stick to a rav4 or something that will hold value -the features in this ain’t gonna last 300k miles -just sayin - mine has 2800 miles and lost 6500 in value in three months🤬

Never thought of it like that. But I will say the Hyundai is much nicer then the Toyota. Toyota is starting to get outdated with tech and styling. So the Hyundai takes the win for being a nicer vehicle.
