Why does everyone hate the Acura track pad? My dad has a 2020 rdx and we all love it. It took me 5 minutes to figure out how to work it without looking away from the road. Way less distracting that a touchscreen. Everyone seems to dislike the system I’ve never seen a reviewer compliment it

I think the acura track pad works great and easy to use. Very straightforward and doesn't require scrolling.

I literally just purchased the 2021 NX 300 and the interior does not look like the one you are showing. Anyway, I prefer the NX 300 body style better. It looks much more fancier than the RDX to me. The RDX looks more like a family ride.

Just bought the 2021 Acura RDX A-Spec yesterday and I LOVE it!!!!

We bought a 2016 NX 200T, I detailed cars for 50m years, I can't find 1 flaw anywhere on the vehicle, paint, interior, anything, it drives very nicely, has plenty of power, handles like a sports car, has excellent resale value, we are quite pleased with it , great purchase.

I bought the RDX few month ago, excellent suv and can be aggressive as well. If like to drive, this suv for you. Quality is great. Safety systems and adaptive cruise working well. It is big from inside with good stance. Trunk is huge with 2 storage bins. You get a spare tire if u opted for AWD system. The NX will feel much smaller and cramped inside and the newer NX will be the same. Excellent review. Thank you.

Honestly I know Lexus is a very reliable car but the rdx definitely has it all, it looks so cool the only thing I don’t like is that it’s not very economic but still it’s not terrible

Am definitely doing my homework before I buy, i’m at the age now where this will probably be my last new vehicle. Absolutely love the Acura RDX and the Lexus NX hybrid. We are definitely seriously thinking about waiting a year or two for the RDX to come out with a hybrid model, i’m told this will probably happen by 2024. We’re going to definitely take another look at the Lexus with a new design for 2022, but the 2021 is definitely just too tight on the inside we’re not small people. If we can’t get the RDX in the hybrid model by 2024 we are going to go with the Toyota Highlander platinum edition hybrid. We’ve always been Honda people but we just can’t buy another vehicle that is not at least a standard hybrid. Thank you for this excellent review of both the Lexus and the Acura it really helps.

Just got and RDX. Love it.

Trust me, if you buy an RDX you will not be disappointed whatsoever. Despite it's small engine, it will throw you back in your seat if you stomp on the gas. Even in comfort mode you can accomplish a 0-60 in at least 5 seconds. Overall a great SUV for daily driving.

I was not a fan of Acura before, but after test drive both cars, there not even a single reason to go with Lexus (other than L badge). RDX offer more power, more bells and whistles, more quality materials, and more space in cabin and cargo. RDX base is more than enough for any customer, I ended up buying base OTD less than $36k. Only thing I missing (not necessary) is blind spot monitoring and sensors. I don’t want to go higher trim just for this, base model pretty much enough. RDX is refreshing the 2022 model to keep up with 2022 brand new Lexus NX. Did My homework before buying and the more I drive it the more fun it is!! I love our new 2021 RDX A-SPEC!!! I have always believed in nothing less that a 6 cylinder car, I was skeptic about going on a 4 cylinder turbo car! How wrong the RDX made me look, what a fantastic car, this one I will smoke to the ground!!

The interior space of the rdx makes it the winner. The nx is much smaller inside.

NX out sold RDX the last three years. I still have my 2001 Rx300 with over 300,000 miles. The RX300 never let me down once since it was new. Nothing break at all except burn out 3rd tail light 2-3 times in the last 20 years. I’m looking to replace my Rx300 soon. I test drive both and like the RDX better but overall I have to go with the NX. My Dad has Acura MDX and other Honda and it didn’t do as well as my Older RX300 and Sienna. Honda do drive better when it was new but as it age it didn’t do quite well as Toyota. I’m a mechanical engineer and always in the past work on car every time something would break. I used to have Nissan and Honda when I was a teenager and owned several of them before changed to Toyota. Ever since I had my first Toyota (1991 Mr2) I have not have anything break on any of my Toyota. I had to change timing belt and clutch once on my Mr2. And that was the last time I had to fix anything on Toyota other than replacing tires, brake pads and light bulbs.

I got a NX300 for my parents, a RDX and a XC40 for myself and my wife.

I went to buy the Lexus NX a year ago....not this year but the 2017 and I was SO disappointed. If you took the Lexus emblem off I would have never thought it was a Lexus. And I LOVE LEXUS! It would have been my 3rd one but not only was it super cramped it had no power whatsoever! I ended up leaving the dealership with a Q50 instead. It was totaled not too long after I got it unfortunately and I'm now strongly considering the RDX.

Reliability and resale value go for the RDX? not sure where he got that from. I do like the look and space of the RDX, but reliability and resale value will be better in the NX.

People are just stuck in their ways and don’t like trying anything new. I think the track pad is great.

Had a 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring and the navigation and phone were an absolute joke particularly for a Japanese company. Paid a premium for Touring trim level and it was a waste of money. Had a 2008 Honda Odyssey and loved it. Now my point. Just purchased a 2020 Lexus NX and everything is great, even the often criticized infotainment center. Navi and phone far superior to Honda.Everything is intuitive as compared to Honda. Looked at 2020 Acura RDX(Plus Volvo XC 60,Audi A5 and Mercedes GLC 300) but QUICKLY walked away from Acura RDX when told by salesperson that the navi and phone was same as in my 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring. New Lexus NX 2022 looks really interesting with many powertrain options which RDX lacks.

I love my 2020 RDX ! I just found it only 7k mile w Advanced package. So many features! I feel like a caveman with a cell phone. Yeah learning curve! I am an old Toyota guy. Still have my 2008 Lexus RX350. Can bring myself to sell it. I picked up the newest Camry w AWDin that RED!w black sparlkel roof. Great car! But more for the backwards cap guys. I was going to get a big ticket! Very quick car! Anyway I traded it for the RDX. It is loaded! Heads up display, star ship enterprise dash. So far my only gripe is the idle off feature. It will get you in trouble here in Pittsburgh. When you gotta go you gotta go! Feels like engine is stalling. So now I'm having to hang a note on dash to turn it off! Otherwise great car!

NX has dual injection to avoid future carbon buildup issues (important if you are going to keep it a while). RDX does not.

I just got a 2021 RDX and it’s great!

If you want to hold on to your car and beat it into the ground, the Lexus is the clear winner, I have a 2006 IS350 for the summer and still drives like new. No issues. I'm looking for a new winter car and looking at the Lexus NX 300. It's the clear winner if you want something long term like me.

Dude............the interior you are showing on that NX with the pad and screen is from an older generation. The technology is far more advanced than the model you have shown. The 2021 has a nicer screen and also the pad is WAAAAY better for the remote touch. You don't really use it anyway. The voice command is phenomenal. This looks like a 2017 infotainment system from a 200t or 300h of that year.

Easy! RDX for drivers that cares about steering feel and a dynamic SH-awd chassis. The Lexus is for the name and the desing.

I think an issue with Acura is in the branding. While it has plenty of features I wonder if anyone knows it's a "luxury" vehicle.

For fun driving and great awd = RDX For a little bit better reliability = NX I’d go with Rdx because It can handle the corners on turns better with super handling all wheel drive. Lexuses last forever with there reliability Both better than Benz German for the VALUE

The lexus nx was a better looking car 2015 to 2017 the new 2019 to recent are not as nice looking ,the plastic that they are adding in the lower front looks cheap and tacky makes the car look very cheap ,interior of course the new models are nice bigger navigation screen and updated interior is much better . I like both cars rdx 2019 and up are the best looking , before that, the rdx was not a sporty looking suv .

I have an Audi but the RDX is far better than this little Lexus/Toyota overpriced subsubcompact suv. If you were to choose the NX you better off with the Subaru Crosstrek which has much better offroad capability, more cargo space and better safety technology or the Mazda CX5. The only Lexus that is worth buying is the RX for everything else just go to Toyota which essentially is the same thing.

My daughter Tara bought an 2021 NX Hybrid and got a great deal. I believe she loves it.

My 2020 RDX has awful build quality. I wish they would have offered the 2.0T in the CR-V. I wouldn’t have been as upset with all the quality issues if I had paid $10k less for the car.

I dont think this a fair comparison, Acura has a SHAWD with torque vectoring but Lexus does not have have that option. That one factor in itself does put the cars at the same level.

Great review. Lexus is not for me. I prefer the more entry level luxury attitude--and price tag--of the Acura line. Here is my suggestion for a comparison: the Acura RDX vs the Mazda CX-5 (or Mazda CX-30.) Even though Mazda is officially a mainstream brand akin to Toyota and Honda, many owners and reviewers tout its upscale features and esthetics. I'd love to know how you think Mazda compares to a genuine entry level luxury brand like Acura.

Better to compare the 2022 NX. Acura looks like a boring soccer mom mobile. No hybrid. Terrible fuel economy. Massive turning radius. Acura trackpad is brutal 🤮 Acura offers great value for the money, awesome quality, great ergonomics.

why do these guys constantly knock the TTI interface for the info system? it takes a 6th grader all of about 15 minutes using it to have it "figured out" and once you have the small learning curve conquered, you will love it! You stay in a normal driving position and not have to reach to "touch the screen" as this chucklehead thinks is better! There are some things I think Acura could do better but overall, I love my 2020 Tech package RDX and easily will give it a 5 star rating! Reviewers: USE THE TTI FOR MORE THAN ONE TIME BEFORE YOU DO THE REVIEW AND JUMP ALL OVER IT! If you lightly tough the interface, it actually acts like a mouse and the options highlight then push down harder to "click" on them!

We are Lexus owners but have the RDX now. Both of us fight over who gets to drive the RDX but have had lots of warranty problems and won’t keep it past the warranty.

Just bought the 2021 Acura RDX SH-AWD and I love it! I did a deep research on SUVs and RDX was the one that best accommodates everything I was looking for in an SUV, class, style, sporty but luxurious, good space for me and my three children, just gives you more for your money, much better performance, love the design inside and outside.

The adventurous NX body definitely eclipses the more ho hum RDX while the RDX interior looks much cooler especially With either the stitching or the red seats. One big zonk, stealing zonk from another reviewer sorry Joe, but these glued on looking infotainment systems just look so clunky. Built in to the upper console seamlessly is the way to go an example being the Subaru Forester which obviously is a more budget, utilitarian car but still that seamless look is awesome. It’s a shame you can’t incorporate exterior of NX with interior and handling of the RDX. Now that would be some car.

Infotainment system of the NX300 is awesome and very much smart. At least in Europe, if the police see you reaching the touch screen on the dashboard, you'll get at fine. The Idea of having knobs on the stearing wheel is a good reason for that, but much better and smart is the touchpad down in the arm rest. So Lexus system is smarter, ... only fools criticize it.

Lexus is at higher level of luxury. Acura is a low level luxury, it’ll take decades for Acura to catch up to Lexus. Nobody cares about Acuras, they’re design are so outdated and franky not good looking cars at all. No one ever turns their heads when they see an Acura but people will turn their heads when they see Lexus cars due to their striking and unique designs. Lexus for the win, hands down!
