2001 VW Jetta TDI (diesel). 665,000 km, and still runs like new on the original untouched engine & transmission. I'm not looking to replace it!

Change your oil every 5K miles and your vehicle will last a very long time. Don't rely on when the vehicle tells you to change it.

The hate these duffers show to nissan is sometimes unbearable. I am looking for a nissan that died after 60k miles. I see nissans driving on the roads with 200k plus miles and still they are going strong. Its just stupid that when they dont have content then let’s just throw shit at the brand that they have no idea about.

I'm not interested for many reasons. They are not economical and they are environmentally unfriendly. They are way more damaging to the environment than gas powered vehicles when you consider the life of the EV from mining the materials to production, to actual driving.

Can you tell me if the 2023 Honda crv is reliable? Why I ask about this is I am seeing lots of comments and complaints about oil dilution problems with the non hybrid engines and it does not seem to have been fixed, is this true. Apparently Honda has refused to fix this problem?

I dont know about the new Nissan Rogue but i bought a brand new 2017 nissan rogue now with over 100,000 miles on it Zero problems with it so far. just the normal wear and tear battery, brakes, etc It all depends how you use it ! keep the transmission in automatic don't use the manual shift option it will last longer.

I own a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe and the engine failed at 70,000Km. However Hyundai Canada replaced the engine free of charge and I am now at $180,000km on this 2nd engine and the Car has been perfect since then. I Can say that the warranty is very reassuring.

Turbochargers are in use for more than 100 years, mainly in diesel engines, and they have proven to be reliable. Therefore buying a turbocharged vehicle is a sound decision. Even Toyota uses turbos nowadays.

Thanks to government regulations forcing makers to squeezes every drop of fuel to hit these un-realistic mileage targets, we get stuck with tiny, highly over-complicated, and over-stressed engines, with all these plastic parts that should never be used in suck applications, that will break in a stiff breeze. That, plus profits over quality, mean there's just too much junk on the roads, and eventually, in the junkyards. Also can't forget all the cheaply-made electronics, that cannot handle heat cycles, vibrations, and humidity, which are all present in automotive applications. It is sad that even the once-great German makers have gone down this route as well.

I love the comments. Some so beyond lame. Both vehicles are great options to get into a legitimate fuel saving vehicles that will last for years. Both are very different in design. To say Honda is subpar is to say how ignorant you are about the mechanical design of the hybrid system. Both take a different approach to the hybrid drivetrain design which shows how innovative their engineers are. You can't go wrong with either vehicle.

I learned a lot from your videos. Could you make a comparison of leasing or financing a car by considering the lowest budget of the buyer; let say a student with 2000$ monthly income to pay everything, reducing the amount of affordability to pay no more than 400$ per month. And also, I heard one rule “20-4-10” means 20% down payment, maximum of 4 years of financing and 10% of income for the car including monthly payments, insurance, fuel and other expenses. How should be managed to use this rule for a student with limited income? Thank you

We love our 2024 Mazda 3! Although, we did purchase the Hatchback but after about 9 months and my almost causing an accident, decided to trade it in on the Sedan due to the visibility issue in the back because of the large C-pillars. Yes, we had to lose a bit of money and pay sales tax again but was worth it to be able to fully see out the back at all times - not just when backing up. Beautiful cars without CVT transmission and without the Auto Idle function which is annoying.

Hi Shari, this type of Q&A videos are great. I will never ever give up my gasoline engine vehicles. If this corrupt North American government places pressure to go all EV garbage by 2035, I will move to Russia where there is more freedom to drive whatever vehicles I want to drive.

Just got my used Toyota Corolla 2020 with 40k km on it for 18k€. =) super happy with it. Consumption in the city is only 3.6l-3.8l per 100km. This really is fantastic and I am not even trying to drive slow and save on gas.
@sierraecho884Күн бұрын
1. Don´t get the SUV it has worse gas milage (for obvious reasons). 2. Get the smallest and lightest vehicle you can. 3. Buy it used and pay attention to the hybrid/gearbox system, Toyota has a really good integrated hybrid system compared to say VW or others. 4. Don´t forget a good Toyota gearbox is way better than a regular automatic gearbox. They also got rid of a starter, driving belt and few other parts. So they even reduced complexity. And electric motor is great for slow inner city driving and a gas engine is great for faster highways driving, now you have both! BTW I just recently got my Toyota Corolla and retired my 14 year old VW. I love the Hybrid, it drives great and the tech is truly amazing, but this may be interesting to be because I am an automotive engineer, others might not care much. Howevery my Toyota came with a 15 year and 250.000km warranty, which is a great deal and probably the longest warranty I have ever seen, this tells a lot about their quality. I really hope there will be some 3rd party batteries available in 10 years, so I will swap my current one for a lighter with more capacity. I just hope they will come up with PV panels for the roof to charge the battery as well or something like that.
