Oh yeah. I bought this truck used in 2009 with 52k miles on it. I'm right at 200k and have had very few issues with the truck. I replaced the timing belt in 2014 so I will be doing that again before long along with the water pump.

I really like the Tomar bar. It is very bright and easy to work on. I like being different than our local police. They all have either Whelen or Code 3 bars. I do not care for the code 3 bars at all. Since the truck has no markings other than my front tag, I dont want to be accused of looking like the police.

@@POV-Fire-Response That is good! I️ was about to say take a look at Feniex light bar. They are superrrrr bright. I️ mean your truck absolutely look like a fire dept truck based on the color of it. It is not like you have Ford Explorer all black or Dodge Charger pursuit with light bar on haha.

You do understand that I'm a volunteer? In South Carolina you have a lot more volunteers than you do paid departments. If the department allows you to setup your POV to respond to calls, then you can setup your POV with lights and sirens. The department is not going to provide this equipment for you. As long as you have a 360 degree lighting that follows the states regulations you can outfit your vehicle. Each state has its own regulations dealing with POV setups. Georgia requires a state permit to run red lights and sirens. The GA permit is free for volunteers. Some states down south will let you run red emergency lights with sirens. Some states up north will not allow any sirens and require blue lights. Some states will not allow any volunteers to add any lights or sirens. The department itself does supply all working tools needed to complete a job. The issue for a lot of fire departments today especially in rural areas, is getting man power to the scene. Fire Departments do not have the volunteers they once had. In our case, we get a driver to get the Engine or Rescue out of the station. Then we have our volunteers who are usually at home when the call comes out respond to the scene. Each department is different. I have a lot of lights and the sirens as I travel through a lot of intersections with traffic. It is my choice on how to setup my vehicle. My truck is now mostly used to respond to fire calls when dispatched. I do have another vehicle that has no lights or sirens in it. I hope this clears up the confusion.

@@POV-Fire-Response Wow, I got big time RESPECT for you. Now that's what I call giving back to your community. Heck, I live in California and have many friends that are Firefighters. And every single one of them makes at least 300 thousand dollars a year with mininal overtime and they wouldn't do anything for their departments off the clock. @@k9spjack like 70% of the US is volunteer fire departments and at one point it was 100% volunteer. Our founding fathers were all volunteer fire fighters including George Washington

I was a captain with the department at the filming time. Now I’m just a firefighter.

It is a very good light bar. I prefer it over the Code 3 and Whelen to be honest. It is built very well and is strong. The newer Scorpions with the duel light heads will be what I get next. That is when this one finally dies. I think it is 2008 model. Changing out the light heads are so easy and you do not have to worry about replacing whole sections of plastic. It works off of trigger wires as well so you do not have to have any special control boxes.
