I would do anything to be able to run another color but white. Our state only recognizes r/w for volunteer POV's. Id love to have blue tbh. lol

I have a bunch of different stuff. Everything but my sirens and speakers are just Amazon brand equipment. I don't see the point in putting a bunch of money into name brand stuff that does the exact same thing. I believe I actually also purchased those grille lights off eBay. So, state of WV is pretty cut and dry with their EVOC qualifications. I took my EVOC almost 2 years ago through a local training company that does all of our firefighter qualifications. The messed up part of our EVOC is, you can take your EVOC in an ambulance and that qualify you to drive a fire truck. Thankfully, our department has certain SOP's put in place that says you must pass the EVOC and then be checked off on each piece of apparatus through a dedicated course. Also, if the truck has water, you must be able to pump that truck. In response to your question about the POV qualification, I did not have to take it in my truck but I did take it in an 19ton Engine. Vehicle type doesn't matter in this state. WV says a POV is a POV. No matter of vehicle type/make/model. When it comes to insurance, whenever i'm in my own vehicle, it is my insurance that will take the hit if I would have an accident. Department makes it very clear that they are not reliable if something happens. Only time the department is responsible is for when there is a misuse of lights or siren. State of WV requires 360 lighting, and an audible warning device on all vehicles. Only allowing the use of red, white, & yellow lights. I'm super surprised our state is one of the few that allows us to do this. It is a bunch of liability and can very easily make your station look bad if not careful.

@@NathanielTexas same here in KY. Backup runs for a City Fire or EMS service also allow for red/white lights w/ a siren.

The only thing I had someone help me do was tap into my fuse box because I wasn’t exactly sure how to do that. Other then that, I ran the wires, hid them, mounted the lights, grounded, mounted the speakers, etc. Just played around with stuff, watched a few basic electric 101 videos and it worked out pretty well! :))

I purchased the Kenwood from eBay and had it programmed, the siren was through TheFireHallFleaMarket on FB marketplace

The Galls was definitely cheaper. Just because it doesn’t come anywhere close to the same capabilities as the Federal Signal. Between the lighting capabilities, light bar options, the 1-2-3 lighting option for rear and front lighting displays. I’m definitely very proud to own it

All states have their own set laws on allowing this. Some only allow a single blue light, some like WV allow what I have. Just depends whichever end of the country you’re on.

I didn’t struggle to bad. The hardest part I struggled with was getting my visor lights to fit properly because Ford is stubborn like that. Just as long as you have a basic understanding with craftsman ship and wiring you shouldn’t have much of an issue
