The fact that people disregard the entire ride over a piece of riding equipment that is being used properly is astounding to me. That horse enjoyed every part of that ride, and he was soft in every part of his body. Spurs or not, get your head out of your ass and enjoy the hours and blood, sweat, and tears it took to get this far, to this piece of art.
@sheryltoliver99752 жыл бұрын
Agree spurs are for giving cues, just a piece of equipment that when used properly don't hurt the horse. It looked to me like that mare loves him.

Weirdly those spurs with spinning wheels aren't legal here in Sweden. Those who made them illegal were probably not aware that spurs with spinning wheels are milder to the horse than the spurs with just a knob. The knob doesn't give as the wheel does. Anyway, it's possible to hurt the horse if kicking the spurs with force, with either type one use. Riding with spurs (correctly used) is just a signal to the horse to go faster, breake the pace, go left or right, change gallop and so on. It's not for punishing the horse. I'm no master at riding, but I have been riding with spurs on a lazy ass horse which refused to move faster than a walk and me short legged couldn't squeeze his chest hard enough to get him to move so my riding instructor suggested spurs on that horse. When I had another horse I took them off my boots.

@@CaitlynJneeCocke Are you kidding me??? Walk into a rodeo and see how many people can even walk their horses around bridleless. It would be very, very few. Yanking on extremely harsh bits, kicking hard with Spurs (unlike how he was using them), starfishing, forcing horses to live in a stall 24/7, and caring about prizes more than the horse's well-being is much, much more common than a connection like this.

That horse is incredibly focused! Not only in being placid with such a large and vocal crowd, but to disregard all of that sparkle flashing around in its extensive peripheral vision! I definitely like a horse that has been treated well enough to be this confident and calm compared to the highstrung English-style horses I first learned to ride on as a kid. Impressive!

Absolutely beautiful human and equine- and absolute connection- and I look at the historians that connect the bit and bridal to when humans started riding horses and would ride horses into battle and I always felt that we didn't need a bit and bridle to ride horses- This is huge proof of that- it is also incredible advocacy to the humane treatment of horses where you see some painful bridal equipment being used on some horses which I have always been against. Anne Kursinski started show jumping in hackamore's and now we see this wonderful display of absolutely no bridal display- looks like he is using a breastplate or a lead around the shoulders and withers and neck and a lot of body language I also do believe that horses and humans can read each other in an almost telepathic manner and this proves it. 👏❤️🙏

Absolutely love this!!! This man found Gold in this horse here. I had a bay gelding, i could do anything on with the same type of set up. The tiny string around his neck. He was super sensitive so super responsive and loved to please. Switch leads every step at a walks pace. Slide to a stop, spin all the bells and whistles. Barrel raced, pole bending, and even roped on him like that. Absolutely amazing when the connection like that is there. It's like the only love that works and doesn't break. I still love that horse. Haven't seen him in years. (My partner, my friend i sure hope wherever you wound up, that you were well taken care of and loved as much as i loved you) minor side track yall. My bad. And spurs just speed the response time, keeping attention where it's needed. They too can sidetrack in high energy situations. This mare was doing her job, and doing it well. Great performance man 👏❤ hold onto that horse she's one of very few that one finds that bond.

It really shows the flaws in our species when folks trash everything and moment. Nothing is safe from unnecessary judgment. Why watch the video if you're not appreciative of the content, just to fuel your negativity? Go get a passion that brings you joy instead. If you aren't there to witness the interaction in the flesh then pass no judgment, if you witness injustice INTERVENE. That is if you have a pair, rather than posing to have a set on the internet.
