Awesome video. I really love seeing what all you’ve done with it. I had the same truck for a few years and planned on going a similar route with it until I got an offer I couldn’t refuse and traded it for a 2500 Cummins. Thanks to Carli it’s performing much better than stock so I’m going to do a heavier inspired version of what you’re doing. God bless to you and your family.

I had the Leitner Design rack. Good rack. The bad with me..once the pods were in it left very little room area for my dog kennel and other necessities. I ended up selling off everything and went with the Alu-Cab Cabin. My ram is now complete and I’m happy.

Rear air suspension helper bags will make a world of difference for you. I do a lot of hauling and towing, so I got an auto leveling system for my RAM from Timber Grove and it's been wonderful. With all the mods and added weight you've been doing, you might want to consider doing a 4 corner coil spring to air spring swap. I'm sure there's plenty of overland shops out there in WA that can hook you up.
@KrokemOutdoors

thanks for the feedback and recommendation, I will look into those! Will see how these bump stops and coil perform in the next few trips, and if unbearable, may have to go that route.

I agree. I have a ‘19 Rebel with an RSI SmartCap, a TuffStuff Alpha RTT plus whatever gear I’m hauling in the bed. I have not upgraded the shocks or springs but I have added the basic Timber Grove airbags (not auto-leveling) and that alone is a world of difference. Eventually I’ll upgrade the shocks & springs to help smooth out the ride on the rougher trails.

There’s always Dobinson coils, they offer two different rates. Ones a little more than stock and then they have a heavy rate, but they are a 2” lift instead of 1” like Carli’s new rebel HD ones. I’ve got the Dobinson heavy rate coils on my new ram with a 58” Rci rack and a ikamper skyview 2.0 and it didn’t even squat at all. Goes down a little if I load the rest of the camping gear in, maybe .5”. Maybe worth a shot.

Have the same bump stops you have on the rear with 4Wheelcamper. It was riding on the bump stops also, after I installed some heavy duty rear springs from Amazon, they took it off the bump stops and my ride improved. When I installed 2 inch ReadyLift spring spacer in the rear, it raised the spring travel even more. Also did 2 1/2 inch lift in front, very happy with the ride. I also installed a heavy duty sway bar in the rear, but found the lightest adjustment on the sway bar works best for me.
@KrokemOutdoors

my next course of action would be heavier springs , and if that doesn't work, then airbags. How are the springs holding up?

@@KrokemOutdoors Springs are holding up fine. The KZfaq video I saw them on is, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/atSEiMyYlqimf5s.html. Notice his camper is quite heavy on a Ram Rebel, yet the springs he put on help with the load. I did the same with my 2019 Ram Rebel quad cab.

Yea I have a standard 1500 and the standard carli springs left me squatting with all the weight. I stepped up to the rebel brings (recommended by carli) gave me another 1 in of lift and solved my issue. Going to still look into timbrens as the springs and end links give more travel so I don’t want too much roll with the upper weight. If that makes since.

Edward, Boy oh boy looking sharp brother. Nice setup some of these like the top rack & possibly tent are interesting to me also ultra long fuel capacity is something I value. Good job looking really sharp I have original old tech cell booster but it may be marginal as my rig is from origin cell times excellent but some things have advanced & in others old technology is best for sure. Well done you. Best David
@KrokemOutdoors
@KrokemOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks David! the Cell booster seems to have a decent reputation for helping, but I have yet to fully test it out myself. I know that it's function is to boost the signal rather than find one in a dead space, so I carry my Garmin InReach explorer for those scenarios where there are absolutely no signals. The only downside is the monthly subscription fee, but I think it's worth it 👍

I was wondering if you are going to mention the ride quality of the rear. I noticed in the moving shots you could see the rear bucking. I don't think air bags are the best solution for what you do, but would defiantly help if setup correctly and are probably the only short term solution. The problem you are going to continue to have is that you are still modifying the truck regularly. The weight is changing and as such, finding the correct spring rate is impossible. Once the weight is figured, finding the correct spring rate and shock valving will be fairly simple.

$3,000 for a rear bumper. An additional $220 for a black powdercoat, cause 3 grand just doesn't cover it. Are they nuts? Don't take it the wrong way Ed, love your build and content. But c'mon.

It's a pretty penny! Do you know of any comparable setup thats easier on the piggy bank? Might settle for the rig'd but I really like the functionality and design of the expedition 1.

@@parkje214 I don’t. It has great functionality, i just think that price is outrageous. The Rig’d is solid as a tire carrier, still very expensive. Yes, you get what you pay for, but still.
