Last weekend my friend Sam and I did pretty well in a new area looking for elk sheds. We decided to go back into the same spot, but this time we would hike in from the bottom with camp on our backs, and see what we could find. We hiked in Friday afternoon and stayed until Sunday. Sam had an amazing day on Saturday and found at least 22 shed antlers right by camp. I found 13 on Saturday and 9 sheds on Sunday.
Thanks for watching.

@@RogueOutdoorsmen That’s crazy! If I find six in a year that’s good. My problem is I like to make bottle openers with arrowheads and antlers but if I find the antler on our far I keep it. But so far this year I have seven counting two my neighbor found on our place and gave them to me👍🇺🇸

Nice finds. "Head on a swivel" best advice i believe you can give. Have about 5 sq. Miles behind my house I've hit more than a hundred times. Depends on condition's i guess because i still find my fair share even walking over my own previous tracks. Continued good luck.

I would estimate the age of most of the chalky ones and do some past weather research. Make a good guess at why they were there and apply it to further hunts know what I mean bad weather spots probably aren't the same as miLd winter spots also being primarily deer sheds probably means somthing also good luck!

@RogueOutdoorsmen
@RogueOutdoorsmen 3 жыл бұрын
You can hike for miles and miles in the wrong places. You have to find where the bulls and bucks hang out in Feb - May and you will find some shed antlers. Once you find some, you'll keep finding a lot more places to look. Unit 7, 8, 9, and 10 should be what you should focus on. If you'll start driving around more in the mornings and evenings, you might see what you are looking for. Once you locate them, then start hiking around. You might even get lucky and find a road shed this time of year.

What state you in beautiful country I'm in Maryland definitely different terrain lol also what do you do with all your sheds I pass them all the time on my way out hunting and hiking for new hunting spots but I just leave them I mean I might of kept 5 over last 10 years just Cuz they were really crazy looking but shit if people buy them I got probably 150 head mounts from dear iv killed over the years just hanging from the rafters all around my porch that I really need to get rid of some got a new woman and shes not into all the heads everywhere lmao single dad last 5 years so done alot of killing lol got mounts and racks and skulls everywhere lol

@RogueOutdoorsmen
@RogueOutdoorsmen 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, buy the one in the store or from one of my antler buddies selling them online. By the time you add up your gas, food, gear, and miles traveled, it’s cheaper to buy the ones in the store. Time is money, it takes a while to find the right spots, but this is the right time of year where you could get lucky, and stumble into one.
