Arizona Shed Hunting 2023: Solo Backcountry Elk Sheds

A few years ago my friend Ken and I hiked 8 miles into an untouched area for an epic shed hunting trip. I found a shorter way into this spot and decided to head in there again. I hiked in Friday night after work, hiked around all day Saturday, and decided to just hike out Sunday morning.
I ended up with 8-9 elk sheds (only 1 brown) and 4 Coues deer sheds and a brown Coues Deadhead.

Lots of bucks get killed by cats, just hike the canyon bottoms and you will find them.

Hey rouge, I’m disable vet. I just moved from Co, I love she’d hunting but needs to be not to step and I can’t go to far. I know I can’t find as much as most with these limitations but still like to know I have a chance at a few. Could u steer me in a direction or gmu to start with. Not looking for coordinates just a area in general

This time of the year up where he is at it’s still fairly cold. He said in another video that in all the years he has only seen 2-3 and most of those were on a road.

I ran into a blow snake on the drive out a mile from the truck. But I rarely see them out hiking around. In the last 7 years, I've seen 5-7 rattle snakes, and 3-4 were on one road. Rarely out on the mountains.
