Today on the channel we have a 4th generation SsangYong Korando, as a 2021 model year. This Korean built compact SUV has a 1.5L turbo petrol engine (but there is also a 1.6L diesel available), putting out 163hp and 260Nm of torque for this particular car, which has an automatic gearbox (the MT version has 280Nm).
The dynamic performance is quite good, although not impressive. The obvious bottleneck is the gearbox, imo. It's rather slow in changing gears and it shifts up too early (5.100-5.200 rpm). Even in manual mode the gearbox takes over around 5k rpms and shifts up. I'm pretty sure the car could be some good tenths of a sec quicker to 100 kmh with a better performing gearbox.
