This Suzuki is a rebaged Toyota Rav4 Plug In Hybrid, made by Toyota in the same assembly line in Japan. The only difference is they use the Chinese Rav4 front. The rest is the same, with the Suzuki badges and a specific equipment definition.

Think I’d still prefer it with a Suzuki badge though.

That is getting expensive for a Suzuki, £46k!! To put into context, my BMW X3 xdrive 20d (mild hybrid tech in it) gets 48mpg in the last 18 months of driving, list price was £47k (works out to just under £500 deposit & £500 a month). Question is where is the value in this Suzuki (especially factoring in the luxury car tax)

£46k for a Suzuki, you don't even get a glass roof or satnav. You'll also be paying the luxury car tax, so approx £500 a year in total which totally wipes out any fuel savings. If you like what you see ,save about £10k and buy a RAV 4 , non plug in. Better car, better warranty, no luxury car tax etc etc ...

This is pinned against the RAV4 PHEV, which also incurs premium tax and everything which goes with it. The warranty is the same quality and the car (for me) looks better in a Suzuki guise.

There’s a VED surcharge payable on cars costing more than £40,000 when new, which stands at £355 from 1 April 2021. This is up from £325 in 2020 and must be paid annually on top of the standard flat rate. This payable for five years from the second year of registration; at six years old, the car reverts to the standard flat rate.

46k for a Suzuki hah good luck with that plus hilariously an additional £475 in road tax p,a, inc "Luxury car tax" it would be way cheaper to pick up an ice car. This does save Suzuki the big fine for emmisions though and they're happy to pass the cost on to the buyer in my opinion. No thanks.

Not sure if there are people who like to pay that much for Suzuki. You would need to drive many thousands miles to come close to fuel savings - and you would need to drive these miles in Suzuki. Clearly this is that kind of car which manufacturers like to add to their range, just to look better with emissions, regardless is no one ever will buy those "green cars". PHEV / EV world gone mad.

Full cost-wise, I agree, it's a lot - however monthly with government and manufacturer incentives... it's a much better pill to swallow.
