With a Golf R and 4WD the grip gives a lot of confidence its no big deal really, with a GTI (FWD) on the other hand I wouldn't recommend it. Esspecially in my Polo GTI you are fighting for grip and just trying to keep the car straight.. The Mk8 and some Mk7's have an LSD so launching has gotten a lot better btw.
