For the car enthusiast, you're going to love the new 2022 X4 m40i from the way it looks to the way it sounds.
This model is pretty stacked up with options with the Shadowline Trim, upgraded Harman Kardon Surround Sound, Live Cockpit Pro, Surround View Camera with 3D pro and all the M badges you get by upgrading to the m40i. This baby has a V6 with a 48V Mild Hybrid System that is sure to impress.
My friend Joe has this car and he thinks I copied him so im going to leave this here to give credit where credit is due. His is faster but mine is newer. Thanks Joe.

I have a 2022 X4 too...mine is the mineral white metallic with the cognac interior...I love it! Like yourself, I'm a BMW girl. I went from an X3, to X4, back to an X3, and now an X4. I'm totally in love and love driving my car!

Love the new X4s. Don't forget to wash the undercarriage as well to get rid of salt build up that may cause rust! I have a M2C and BMW did a great job covering most of the undercarriage up with panels so the areas you want to watch out for are then suspension components and the wheel hub area! Enjoy her in good health 😁

Great review! Going through the very same process as you did and it’s truly is a bit nerve racking. I also considered the GLC and Audi but went right back to the X4 it’s like we are going through the same journey! This was such a helpful video. Wishing you and “Blanca” all the best! Have fun!!

Just sold my 2018 911 4S. Going to BMW tomorrow to pick up 2023 X4 m40i in Brooklyn Grey. Never owned a bmw, but I drove this, cayenne s, velar and defender, and the decision wasn’t that hard. I watched a few of these x4 videos and all positive and very helpful.

I’m stuck in between this and the GLC 😩😩😩 I love the Mercedes’ grill, but the BMW I love everything else about it. Decisions decisions.

Way less body roll in the BMW. My mom has a GLS, and it handles like shit. But it rides 2nd to NONE. Unbelievable* ride quality. almost range rover level. And no road or wind noise. If these are things you like, go merc. But my X4 feels better to drive. Great way to sum it up... I'd love to ride in the Mercedes. I'd love to drive the BMW.

That’s exactly my dilemma 😅 the Mercedes grill is too fire 🔥 but the rest of it looks plain. The BMW looks fire all around but the grill is……ehhhh ok

I’m so excited. I pick my one up next Sunday. It’s a fully loaded one as well. It was originally a show room order. I’d originally ordered an X2 sport x but BMW ceased the production and changed my order to a base model. My dealer found this one that had just arrived. Can’t wait and your video has me hyped!

@@Lukas-go2wv I love it. The torque is so good. Acceleration is on point! Getting to the speed limits and knowing the engine is just getting started is frustrating. Mine has the frozen dark grey paint on it and gets a lot of attention when out and about. We were told there are only two X4s in the county with this paint. 😎

@@Lukas-go2wv it can “pop” but only if I rev it hard. With cost of fuel I’m not going crazy. My Pop told me off for revving the engine when we showed him the car. Lol

Great video! I picked up my m40i in brooklyn grey with black wheels couple days ago.Love the car so much! The shadow line option supposed to come with the black kidney grille but they gave us the chrome one due to shortage.

I was the opposite. I went to the dlr to buy an X4 but when I saw the X3 m40i in Brooklyn Grey with the tacora red seats I was sold. I love it. They both have really great designs.

@@dezrok1 The x3 is a girls car brother, Sorry to say but mainly women own the x3 as its an entry level bmw, similar to the mercedes cla and a class. The x3 size and design is also very feminine. Real men do not drive a bmw x3, Should have gone for Toyota if you could not afford the x5

Beautiful X4. I purchased an X3, 3 months ago. I’m not use to it yet but I like it. The dealer was trying to get me to test drive the X4, I told him know no because it was out of my price range. I got the big brother, 2022 X4 M Competition. Did a full XPEL ultimate+ wrap. Brooklyn Grey w/black interior. Just had my M service. Oh man I love it. If I wasn't stationed in Germany i would have gone with the M40i since you can't really push the M Comp unless you track it. Here in Germany its a blast on the Autobahn. Enjoy your ride and congrats!

I too had to choose between the ventilated seat and the interior color for my X3 M40i. Just wish BMW could've given more choices other than the black/mocha once you opt for cooled seats.

yes! its a travesty. Once you go to 5 series and up i noticed you have alot more options but that also puts you in a higher price bracket.

I just picked up my x3 M40i last sat (dark graphite metallic w/tacora red (not leather) HUD, surround view camera ) this is my first M40i and i am enjoying it and the new interior and idrive 7 (i was coming out of a 2019 x3 with idrive 6) - always liked the x4. i think it may be my next lease when this one is up - enjoy your new Ride

The retractable license plate is awesome. Did you do your own install, how hard was it? I have been looking for a solution to avoid drilling into the bumper, currently using a heavy duty 3M exterior velcro.

Thank you! I had it installed at a place called ONEighty, they specialize in modifications. This specific one is hooked up to the battery. There is an alterative one that is manual not automatic, you push it up and down. Just quickly searching Manual Hide Away License Plate on Google a bunch popped up. Either way they will have to be attached to the bumper but hopefully lower so its more inconspicuous.

Great video! Questions: I didnt see the m sport differential in your selected options? Any reason to leave that out? With 20 inch and above wheels, it does improve the handling significantly.

Hey Mot, i did leave it out because at some point i had to stop adding things to the price! it wasnt a cheap option and i decided i could live without it. I think if one were to add it and all the other options, they might as well go for the full x4m vs m40i because youll be up there in price

The BMW X4 line of crossover SUVs reminds me of an above average weener with girth and veins🙃. Love earlier models but these newer ones look to me like fancy toyota avalons. Happy for though. You love what you love💪🏽

You're right. You fixed your mind on X3 until the day arrived, and suddenly you noticed you didn't like the X3 that much, and routed your mind towards X4. X4 is almost USD100k in my country due to taxes, but heck, I am getting it.

Glad I could shed some light! Which ever options you think you’ll use the most. I didn’t get a few because I wouldn’t use themup ie the driving differential and driving assistant.

Deposit paid for X3 M40d, hopefully will have it by December / January time. Have went for Visibility Package ( Laser lights ) My only thing I am not happy with, is, is that Front Fog Lights aren’t an option now on X3 and X4 models 😢😭 But hopefully the Laser lights will make up for that. 👍👍 Hope you are enjoying yourself with your X4 👍👍

I just ordered that exact model today . I have a 2019 X6M50i currently and I like it but it is just to big for me and I wanted something just a bit smaller . You didn’t talk about it but it has the hand jesters for the display you can use which is pretty cool as well! Good luck with you vehicle and I live in NY also on Long Island so if your single how about I take you to Blackstones one evening for a nice dinner? Lmk

Can somebody explain to me the difference btw the x4 and the m401 , I’m assuming the M401 is extra features or speed 😂 I love love BMW myself and has a 2014 428 Coupe so far no issues and drive like a brand new car BUT I don’t have a lot of features .

I had chosen the black sapphire w the red interior, and the jet black wheels with high performance non RFT with the M sport differential and a few more opts. The vehicle is scheduled to be build in week 49 which is December 4Th if nothing changes! Again congrats on your dream car !

Congrats! I was torn between that and the white ! its a great great color! I ordered mid November and it came in by end of December and i believe from South Carolina. It was a much faster turn around time then i was expecting.

I have a question hopefully you can help me… so I recently just ordered my X4 M sport a few weeks ago fully custom. Now my question is did you have a long wait when you got your X4.?? Cause I’m being told it can take up to a few months. So I’m just worried and now wondering if I should wait for the 2024, or possibly just go with the X3 M40I

Hi there! I ordered mine when there was a car shortage and coming out of the pandemic, they made it sound like it was going to take months. I had the car in 6 weeks… I think it will be quicker then they tell you

Great video. Just ordered the same car in the same colors as you! I added the shadowline but I’m worried the grill won’t come in due to production issues. Do you have the shadowline package added? A few other questions- why couldn’t you get the heated seats? I was able to get heated in all 4 but not the ventilated. Strange… Also I wanted the 20” or 21” in all season run flat but they didn’t make the all season in any size except 19” Plus I wanted black rims so have to have them powder coated. Are your tires all season? Great video. Can’t wait!!

Thanks for watching! The M40i comes with shadowline but as someone commented below i think due to production issues the grills come with chrome unfortunately. I have heated front seats (i misspoke) but not ventilated seats because of the color leather I choose. As for tires, they ran out of all seasons for larger sizes. They only come with performance. I wanted a larger rim but ultimately chose my size based on tire prices and availability , the 20'' where less expensive with more options.

Did you buy a new set of all season tires since those are summer tires and you live in NY? Also where did u get that from license plate?

I had my license plate installed at Oneighty in Brooklyn. I have performance now, I took them out on a snowy day and there was some slippage but you just have to be careful. My next set will most likely be all season tires and I went with the 20 inch because that had the most selection of tires and prices vs 21 inch tires.

@@ellagabriella8735 I have a 2022 M40i also and just bought some all season tires. Even when it’s not snowy or icey, they say it’s dangerous to drive with performance summer tires if the temps dip below 40 degrees.

like the look, wish it had the Hofmeister kink among other things. I miss the first gen, but maybe this will bring up the value of the first gen in the future. Especially once the grills get bigger than the cars themselves... BMW is really fucking up their designs hard right now. I love the brand, it is a shame.

I'd agree on the driving assistance pro, which I got for my X3 M40i as it helps a lot on Toronto stop-and-go highways. The M sport diff though is only needed if you'd like to push the car to the limit and not for "daily drive family SUV".

It wasn’t an option. I saw them on the sedan and higher series suvs for not the 4. I would have if I could have.
