States with no income tax(es) always have very high property tax & sales tax i, e NH, WA , TX, FL, etc ....

Thankfully we don't have anywhere near as high of property taxes as Texas!

Thank you for helpful video. How about water bill? We think water bill in Camas and Washougal are ridiculously high which is surprising since we get a lot of rain throughout the year. We pay about $150-200/month and much higher in the summer time (only 2 people in the household). We think gas bill is also higher compared with California but maybe due to cooler climate up here, so only electricity is cheaper.

$200 per month for water sounds pretty steep...you may have a leak. I live in a smaller houshold too and usually around $80-$100/mo for water. Gas here is very well priced compared to most of the country. Also sorry for the delayed response KZfaq was not sending me notifications!

I know people do it but you may not want to suggest clients avoid taxation, Washingtonians are supposed to pay a use tax equal to their sales tax if buying in Oregon. Now nobody probably does this but since you're a realtor it I just thought you should know.

I am definitely NOT a fan of everyone buying everything in Oregon because we want to keep those $ in our local Clark County economy, but I don't think it's unwarranted to make big, irregular purchases on the OR side, every single person I know does it (tires, laptop, computer) :) Cheers!

Hello Hannah I currently reside in North Pole, Alaska which is just south of Fairbanks here in the Interior. I’m considering applying for a position there in Camas and I had a couple of questions in regards to your video topic cost of living that were not addressed in the video. Is there a personal property tax on vehicles, atv’s, motorcycles, etc.? Also I’m a disabled military veteran does the state, county and/or city of Camas offer any benefits or reductions in property tax or vehicle registration fees? Alaska offers a 50% reduction in property taxes if your VA disability rating is 50% or greater which is why I ask. Otherwise fantastic video Camas looks like fantastic place to relocate to. I’m hopeful the employment opportunity pans out.

Hi! Good question, and thanks for commenting. Congrats, that is great. For vehicles etc, you pay a tax to the DMV every year for tabs, but I'm not aware of any other annual charges. Regarding your question of VA disability, I have not worked with anything with this exact situation in the past (sorry!). clark.wa.gov/assessor/property-tax-exemption-senior-citizens/disabled-persons This link gives information about Veteran disability tax exemptions, I encourage you to check it out. As a reference, Camas has (generally) the most expensive property taxes in the county. Good luck on the employment search and please reach out if anything transpires with it!

Are the schools in Vancouver good?

That's a great and important question. As much as I'd love to answer, I cannot due to fair housing. "Good" is also a very relative term. I would implore you to use some online resources like school rating websites and test scores etc but also more importantly, gauge public opinion in places like local Facebook groups (which I find is usually a more accurate read on what people think of the schools).
