Maybe a model with factory 18s this time. Which in USA is XLT base or Pro. Up here in Canada only model with 18s is the Pro. What a rotten thing for a person to do!

I had a similar break in and car theft awhile back (although they didn't torch my car). Thieves would drive around posing as a landscape crew and drop off a guy that would kick the door in and grab as much as he could and throw it in a car in the driveway and drive away. Police recovered my car the next day in the hood and they caught the crew doing it. They had done it more than 20 times and they didn't do any real time (a few months in jail), no actual prison time.

I had my ICE F150 stolen many years ago (no GAP either) and ended up driving behind it in my neghborhood weeks later. Kids who stole it trashed it completly but at least we were able to get them arrested. Hope your able to get the same closure for yours.

Well with a high enough level scan tool you should be able to erase all previous keys so that they no longer work with the car.

I'm so sorry this happened, all my years in TN I've never had something bad happen. It's truly disgusting that someone would do this to begin with and even worse to do it to a nice down to Earth guy. I really hope they figure out who did this and bring him/her to justice. Hopefully your insurance doesn't try ands scam you my buddies insurance was a nightmare for him when someone wrecked into his focus. They probably did steal your guns at least, maybe that was their main goal and just torched the truck to be asses - or for all we know one of the guns went off and punctured the battery pack and that torched it, that would be insane! I think your AirTag in the Onewheel cut their joyride short and then they panicked. If they had an iPhone, the AirTag would have alerted them that they were being tracked. They probably panicked at that point and decided to torch the truck to get rid of evidence, fingerprints, etc. Sorry for your loss and violation of privacy.

Dear Investigator, Do a chemical analysis of the Apple Tag that miraculously survived a 1,000 plus degree aluminum fire. If it was not planted it will have at the anatomical level aluminum residue on the Apple tag surface. My guess you will find residue consistent with a cigarette lighter especially if it has signs of heat introduced to the surface of the Apple Tag.

It was melted and gone. If you watched the video you will see that it says "last reported at 3:12". So it was overcome and burnt at 3:12. The last ping to the network was off of the criminals phone. That right there should be the smoking gun to get these guys.

His wife faked crying when she saw the burnt out truck for the first time. The more I watch this video the more I am convinced Jim and wife staged it to get out of paying for a truck they can’t afford. The insurance story is BS If there is a mortgage the lender is notified prior to cancellation and they will pick up a policy snd bill you. This guy Jim is a scammer. Look at his Tesla videos. The whole video was rehearsed. Normal people don’t react like they did approaching the burnt out truck.

so I have a theory on your stolen truck. you point out you had an Apple Air tag in the truck. As an Apple user you should know if an airtag seems to be following you your phone will send an alert saying your being followed by an unknown airtag. if 1 of the people who stole the truck had an iPhone and got the tracking message they may have ditched it early, they may have also been the one that registered its last known location....

See if you can somehow subpoena or search warrant I don't know the proper term for Apple's records on every device that that air tag pinged on It's not super precise because it could been anybody in the vicinity but then the police can match all those suspects to the vehicle type and hopefully get a match. Since it was so far out in a field the last ping has a high probability of being connected through the bad guys phone I would think.

@@Mck499I think he specified he didn't have gap insurance. He most certainly would have had full coverage insurance on the truck, especially if he had a car note on it. Car insurance is also required by state law.

Very suspicious indeed… camera goes out…mins away from your place. Knew how to delete profile on the truck that disabled the link to track to your phone. When I sold my lightning I did that and got INSTANT app notification and emails.

@@JamesKlafehn Whoa Jim, easy. This guy didn't say anything to suggest fraud. He's just saying he got notifications (from Ford I assume) when he sold his Lightning and deleted his profile.

I didn't see any implication that FordPass profiles were deleted. My experience has been that if you don't regularly query the truck, or have an event like charging finished, the. It doesn't necessarily send data to Ford servers. So if it went from the driveway to being destroyed, then the Ford pass app would only have the last location of the driveway... FordPass isn't a LoJack system that records externally location data, nor apple tags which are also tracked externally and don't need to exist to get their history data. All just best guesses here, I've never tested any of this, but I know if my Lightning goes into deep sleep, the last data is very often hours old and not capable of being updated until I power up again.

Jim, If you have a mortgage the bank will not permit your home owner’s insurance to elapse. The lender would have been notified of the impending cancellation and the lender would have notified you that if not paid by the drop dead date on the policy the holder of the title will pick up a policy and bill you before the policy expires. I know this is a fact because I cancelled and switched policies on my home and the new insurance agent failed to notify the lender and I got noticed of the policy purchase by the lender. Good luck. My guess the insurance will most likely investigate your wife and yourself including your financial situation since insurance fraud is a very real problem. I am not accusing you of insurance fraud. however, my gut told me something was off from the video. It seemed like your wife’s behavior seeing the torched truck for the first time was not a natural response. My wife would have acted more distraught and emotional. Everyone responds differently when victimized, but your wife it seemed to me was not convincing as a victim seeing your 100k truck for the first time burnt to the ground. Not accusing you of insurance fraud but the wife’s reaction seeing the truck for the first time burnt to the ground as odd and almost a rehearsed response. Best of luck
