How did you get that bike? I had one on order for 8 months, and I got a letter from the manufacturer stating there was a shortage and no dealer in America would receive a model due to high demand and low supply. Then my dealer told me that Japan and Europe had first pick when the new bike was released.

Akrapovič exhausts are used in Moto GP, Worldsuperbike,Supersport, Supermoto, Motocross, Enduro and Rally raid. As of May 2010, Akrapovič systems have been used in a total of 38 world championships, all across motorsport. So you can argue that an SC project has better sound, or it's cheaper but that is not everything.That is just a couple of aspects, but when you look at all areas Akra smashes all departments. In 2004, the company made its first contact with automobile industry and in 2007 developed and equipped an exhaust system for a Formula 1 race car. The company active as a supplier in the Porsche Sport Cup, It is also the supplier of all major premium car manufacturers in Europe including the hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg. In regards to the @30:00 mark - I think the bikes aesthetics are supremely important for newer riders, or really anyone who doesn’t have the skill to get every ounce of performance out of a super sport. If you don’t have the skill set, then you likely won’t notice the variances from, say, the CBR to the Ninja to the GSXR, etc. I usually tell people to get the bike that will put a smile on their face not just when they open the throttle, but also every time you see it in the garage. That CBR is a gorgeous bike.

I'd get an mt07 over the cb750 hornet just because of the 180 rear tire. Only if Honda didn't offer everything else Yamaha lacks lmao. Hopefully they change the rear wheel, give it a rear tire hugger (because it's just sacrilege that they don't) and drop a cbr750. Then I'll maybe have a reason to upgrade from my cb500f.
@JelloThatsMellow
@JelloThatsMellow Жыл бұрын
@@Daniel-dj7fh I will argue that skinner tires are very nimble though. My speed twin has the same profile and despite being a little hefty near the 500lb mark, it dances quite well. In the days of my cb300r learner I loved how light it was to turn on those 150/60s and 300lb weight.
@Daniel-dj7fh
@Daniel-dj7fh Жыл бұрын
@@JelloThatsMellow my cb500f also has a 160 rear, it's hella nimble. But Mr. Ketterman said kids like looks, and that's why the 180 rear wheel is appealing to me, it looks fat. But I'd argue that the lightness of the bike is more a weight thing. Haven't tested a whole load of bikes sofar but when I get to it I'll do a mental note on if the mt07 with 20mm wider tires and similar weight to my honda does feel more sluggish.
@gsm_liv8980
@gsm_liv8980 Жыл бұрын
@@Daniel-dj7fhOne other thing to note is that the MT has more torque down low. I used to be one of the peeps who didn't think very highly of low-down torque until I've test ridden a CB650R. According to other journos most of the Hornet's power is in its mid to higher revs and well, that is quite a disadvantage of the bike compared to MT-07 and the GSX-8A (for me at least). I've also seen many people in my area go way too fast with their 650s (some even crashed, totalled their bikes) and it's so obvious why.

After riding the S1000RR at VIR (my first track experience and first superbike experience - thanks to the truly outstanding California Superbike School), I quickly crossed superbikes off my list of bikes I'd prioritize buying for street use. the Beemer was similar to the Honda in that it really doesn't wake up until it gets to around 8-9000 rpm... and even in first gear that's very close to or over any legal speed limit here in NY. I just don't think I'd do well with a bike that only comes alive when I'm breaking the speed limit (well... my license certainly wouldn't do well). Lovely bikes and it was an incredibly addictive experience to ride one at the track... but it just wouldn't work for me on the street... because of me.

I know it's a bit of a joke in the comments here, but I rode a CBR1000RR to work for a decade every day. Even though I don't ride it anymore, I still think it was the perfect commuter bike for a very special set of circumstances. Those are: being in a state that allows lane splitting, heavy traffic jams and congestion, highways, as well as inner-city riding. The inline 4 is as smooth as butter, and you'll never be without engine- or braking power to get you out of sticky situations. I still recommend it for experienced riders with self-control in places like the SF Bay Area.

Get the speed twin 1200 I love mine! Immediately get it flashed though (dnktuneworks). My one gripe (besides suspension) is that it has.. a powerband stock. Pin the throttle and the power finally surges on after 4500rpm. Very uncharacteristic of a twin. I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the time to watch this video. Watching Zach ride through the mud while discussing and adjusting the traction control made it totally worth it! Very cool bike but having to exceed pretty every speed limit just to reach peak torque in first gear means it's cool but not very effective on the street. It is, as they say, what it is. On the track, with an ECU flash, I bet it's bonkers.

So Jelous of your weather right now. Living in Northern England, we rarely see skies like that, never mind at the time of year. I love the CBR1000RRR SP, but it's a lot of money to spend on a bike just to put it in your living room and look at it. I'll stick with looking at my 2001 YZF-R1 😁

Great video! I'm not a street bike fan, all though I'm forever a 46 fan. Not sure how I ended up watching this video, but it was cool to come along on the southern CA streets. Recognized many of the places. Rolling Hills (my old stomping grounds), PV Drive and Lomita Blvd. Not sure I would have opted for the dirt road by the rail tracks between Lakme and S. Wilmington. I love the PV, Torrance and Carson area. A lot of good eats! Cheers, mate!

I would love to ride one of these sometime, but no way I'd ever own one (or a supersport like it) as a street bike. There are so many other bikes that are just as fast (on the street) but insanely more comfortable and practical.

They’re not as fast, and because you haven’t owed one, you don’t know that they are in fact comfortable. The ergonomics on a Fireblade are class leading.

I love how the paint looks like the old Fireblade. Feels so good to look at. I enjoy it much more than the 2021 paint, which bothered me for some reason. EDIT: BTW, I have a 2006 Ninja ZX-10R , so that's 10 Rs, and a 2022 GSX1300RR Hayabusa, so that's 1300 double Rs. Still not as much as 1000 triple Rs, but I'm grateful. 😁

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question on why US doesn't bring base RRR and continue selling old RR! Basically, US literbike sales tanked and potential buyers are only interested in highly spec'd out WSBK equivalent models. Unfortunate, but that's the reality now.

I have owned five CBR1000RRs, a 2002 CBR954RR, 2003 RC51, 2007 CBR600RR, and two Ninjas, one R6, and one GSXR too. This 2022 RR-R bores me because it is too focused. I was present in 2020 when they unboxed one of the first RR-Rin the US at Poway Powersports. The prior CBRs were motorcycles that I did pretty much everything on: Camping, track days, canyon chasing, overnight rides, and a lot of high-speed commuting in Southern California. If I knew Honda was going the "specialized" and "focused" way of some European brands, I would have kept my 954RR, RC51, CBR600RR, and my 2018 CBR1000RR. Instead, for the first time I bought a Triumph Speed Triple. My opinion means nothing except one motorcycle sale. In 1992 I was a teenager and when I saw the CBR900RR debut I felt like I was struck by lightning and I had to have one. Where is Tadao Baba when need him most? I was pretty much poor. I had very little money, so I sacrificed and drove a jalopy to afford his engineering marvels. Actually, decades later, I still own a jalopy but I have an awesome motorcycle! Come on Honda... reincarnate the RC51 and update the CBR600RR so I can buy one or two. I hate spending money on cars.
