2022 Hyundai Tucson Diesel Automatic Mileage Run || Highway Fuel Economy @ 90 km/h

The diesel version of the new Tucson comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that promises to deliver excellent efficiency levels. We did a 130km+ run on the Bengaluru - Hyderabad highway to see how much this SUV could manage with two people on board and the A/C running. Speeds were in the range of 85-90 km/h with occasional bursts to 100 km/h.

After driving it for around 25k miles for around a year and a half i think this is a really good SUV from hyundai. It's great looking in the night and one of the most comfortable drives in this price range.

@faizanakram9630 If you really want to buy only BMW then buy the X1. But I feel the tucson drives better and much more features at that price range. So if you want a better cat for your money my suggestion is Tucson

Hyundai-KIA group’s CRDi diesel engines are always of Top notch quality. No other manufacturer can make a diesel engine as refined as Hyundai-KIA group

i have the 3rd gen tucson with awd and the same engine and gearbox. The car easily gives 17.5 kmpl on highway even when i occasionally strech to 120kmph for overtakes etc. max i have got is 19 on cruise in rajasthan but thats very rare.

My dad owns a 3rd gen Tucson too. He gets 19kmpl on almost all the highway runs. He has mastered the art of optimising throttle inputs to squeeze max efficiency. I on the other hand always struggle to get anything above 16 kmpl. He liked the Tucson so much that we booked the New Tucson and I am getting the old one now. Can't wait for the new car to be delivered.

@@sharank sounds about right, i think its a good reliable car. the 3rd gen is not flashy but the engine and gearbox is fantastic. however most people buy cars with their heart and not their head.

@@alexjoy8595 haven't received the car yet. Our dealership promised ours would be the first delivery in the city (depending upon the model of course) but seems like it's going to take a while for the deliveries to start.

Never fill diesel by pressing the nozzle lever fully, it causes foam inside the tank, I always press 1/4 when filling my car tank in England.

This milage run video is really great but I would like to offer one suggestion and that is if you can do these type of mileage tests with atleast four occupants and weekend luggage in the trunk this will make these test so much close to real world scenario...hope you consider it

8:22 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you should rely on autocut especially after you've driven your car for that long, for an accurate fill-up! Since the car was in motion for a long time, there will be significant amounts of air in the fuel tank and this means the autocut comes in earlier than it should. (This is why you find Taxi drivers shaking their cars while filling up to remove air - *not recommended*)

Why bother manually going into 8th like that? Let the car naturaly do what it has to. Idea is to have a real world test with real world driving. Also you should do range test with 2 cars of different segments together, like a creta and tucson. A comparison like that will be a lot more insightful. At a constant 70 even my tiguan petrol can average more than 20kmpl, and at 100 more than 15 kmpl. Doesn't prove anything.

8-9 base min is what we think. Ratios are well spread. But in moving traffic it should be 10-11 types

Our 2018 tucson diesel auto is mind boggling, to undstnd the performance of 186 horses with over 400Nm of torque 1 has to drive it. And spkng abt the mileage then its easily returns over 17 kmpl in city while 23+ on the highways. We Indians have just about to understand a good product, otherwise how could be this product could be highest selling product of hyundai globally.

Nope FWD But mileage is same for both of them! It only makes difference when you use AWD
