The 300 is for people who don’t care about HP but want the all the sportiness without breaking the bank. But if you want a nice even mix of HP oomph, luxury and sportiness but not necessarily the best at all 3, the 350 takes care of that. But above that, if you want a total sleeper with a fire breathing V8, the 500 is for you.

best price, good performance and decent gas use->is 300, increased HP but not yet the performance of a real sport car. low gas economy is350. great performance, great Luxory, low gas economy is 500.

I love the IS. I like the fact it’s still a compact sports sedan, while the competition has become too big and heavy for my taste. The power numbers are good for the weight actually, it’s the lag on take off who kills your track times. They need to calibrate the power and safety systems so the vehicle is capable of putting all the power to the ground. I’m sure the IS is capable of sub six seconds to get from zero to sixty.

The IS may not have grown much (3rd gen is slightly longer and wider than the 2nd) but it's also the heaviest in it's class...even without AWD. If Lexus could find a way to shave 200 lbs off this beast acceleration/handling would be better, tires last longer and most importantly gas mileage increase. I have no idea if Lexus intends to keep the IS internal combustion for the next clean sheet redesign, but if they do I hope they can make a much lighter platform while still retaining the double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension.

Seems Toyota/Lexus are tired of replacing the rear armrest cupholders, they seem to be deleted from the latest IS models. The really puzzling thing is they don't even put a bottle holder in the rear doors..passengers will have no choice but holding their coffee between their legs😮

Not a fan of that red reflector bar across the back. The RC & even the ES rears look better. This IS makes me think Camry. I also understand no folding side mirrors on the IS and RC - a big issue for me since I have a small garage. Surprised even the 2024’s have a cd player. I am actually considering the G70. But here - very nice review.

Lexus detunes most of their engines in the name of reliability. This 2.0t could easily top 300hp with a tune, and the 8 speed tranny can also handle more boost since it's the same one used with higher HP V6 engines. Having said that, if I had one of these I'd probably keep it stock. The acceleration is adequate, and after all it's one of the few turbo 4cyl cars that will likely reach 150k miles on the clock with nothing more than regular fluid changes, maybe a new belt for the alternator/water pump.

I also know toyota/lexus is notorious for being quite conservative on what they 'say' hp amd torque are. I'd like to see all 3 on dyno ( 300,350,500) 😊

Audi you will pay literally a thousand more per year just in maintenance cost . And god help you if you own 1 without warranty and something goes . Lease European buy Japanese 😂

"Is it worth buying?"... Didn't hear a price... No Navigation and a 4cylinder is a deal breaker on anything over $35K...

Msrp is over 40k, it is a Lexus and prices have increased but as a reviewer not a sells person, it brings a lot of vehicles to the table. Surprisingly Navi and 4 cylinders is normal on these price points, even when it comes to luxury. A side note Masareti did not offer std Navi and that was in 2014/2015 year prices ranges MSRP 65-75k 🤷‍♂️ crazy a simple feature that should be std isn’t.

@@HawkeyeRides Smart buyers will purchase below MSRP, (rates are going up).. Negotiations and incentives are here in most places and as the recession continues sales will slump. Only fools pay over MSRP.. The housing market is already crashing clear indicator cars will too.
