In this video I go over the B16 maintenance schedule and what I used to complete the task. I start off with the oil change and show you the rear diff drain and fill bolts. I also talk about the DPSF-II fluid I used and the method by which i was able to fill the rear diff.

Last week I left you a comment with the part numbers for the oil filter deflectors but KZfaq took my comment off. So if you just google 2022 mdx oil filter deflector you should able to find it. It’s a purple sheet metal with a magnet that will stick to the sub frame. Look it up hope that will help you with the future oil change.

I have a 2023 MDX Aspec , same color on order. Should arrive in April. Red interior. I try to do some basic maintenance, so the rear differential tutorial was helpful

Hi. Thanks for the video. Just wonderig where you found the info on the torque and how much you have to put on the rear differential. Its not on the manual or am I just not finding it?

Never get under a car with only a hydraulic jack.

thanks, i do follow that. I always use jackstands when under a car that can crush me such as a sedan. I own 4 or more jackstands. The MDX is tall enough without needing to lift. It is possible to change the oil without lifting the car. The absolute point of lifting only the drivers side is so that the oil filter drains towards the catch can. If it happens to hit the frame ( bad design) it drains to the catch can. When i got under the rear, the tires are on the ground. I would never get under the car if the wheels were removed.

I appreciate your content MacGyver... Thank you. What is your opinion on Rear diff fluid change interval? Also, cabin filter change interval? My areas I drive are NOT demanding. Thank you in advance 😉
