The only thing better than the Mercedes S class is the Mercedes EQS. Just as luxurious but with an electric powertrain it is even smoother and quieter.

Awesome vehicle. The "wrong" direction Mercedes took is that massive centre console screen. It just do not fit in with this class of vehicle. Otherwise, as good as it gets with royalty transport on wheels.

I bought one of these to use as an Uber Lux in London. If you're prepared to put in 10 hours a day (with breaks) then £600 a day is easy. You can do the maths.

It’s a nice car, but it’s insistence on technology especially on the interior is disappointing. Luxury should be about simplicity. Mercedes didn’t get the memo. The previous car had a finer interior in that regards. It’s a nice car - I like it. I just don’t understand this conflation between luxury and technology.

Absolutely fugly interior and too much touch screen. Also not sure about flush handles in winter environments: Tesla is the best example. However, this doesnt matter. People will still buy it in the bucket loads as its an S class.

I thought the same thing. I'm surprised he said that because it's misleading. At that time the S-class was a much older vehicle than the new Audi A8. Audi was the one catching up to Mercedes

Well...his opinion has a leg up because he actually experienced both cars in person, rather than looking at them from afar and claiming which one is the best based on just styling. That would be very silly. I have no idea if the "losing the crown" happened on this channel or elsewhere, but it is all subjective either way. Actually experience these cars yourself, then come to your subjective conclusion.

The 7 Series and A8 aren't a patch on the S Class. Think the reviewer is biased towards the A8. This is the first channel I have heard put the A8 ahead of an S Class.

Wrong bro. Mercedes never lost its crown 👑 to the Audi A8 not when the S-class sold over 80,000 over 48,000 in the maybach trim, as when compared to the A8 1800 copies in the U.S. alone. And you are way to fussy in the end the the one raking in the most sales is the winner and I won't have it any other way.

WHAT about the quality of the materials and the feel and fitment of the interior panels and stalks etc?? Hard plastics again? exterior design is rather bland to say the least, bonnet shut-line is not pleasing, as well as that front fender panel. You can not un-see it once you see it.. the gap line that starts right behind the headlamp...(cost cut) it looks very Toyota Yaris. would have looked so much more classy incase that line was in from of the wheel.. Overall. a lack-lustre design in comparison to the previous S. The interior tech is dope though.

I wanted to buy one. It is not necessarily ugly but S class clearly lost its charm. On the street, it doesn’t make me turn my head at all, something that is still happening with the old model. The exterior is utterly unimpressive. I can relate to the handles as an evolution but lights, dimensions, overall appearance is bland to deathhh. Sorry Mercedes, but this time you screw this up big time (

The interior central screen Tesla copy is a big let down. W221 was the best interior. I do not want to be bombarded with information and digital nonsense from screens in a S class. Analog classy design like Flying Spur is what S class needs.
