I use a Go Pro Hero 8 Black in the front of my kayak and a Hero 10 on my hat.
Black drum, Redfish, speckled trout, and flounder on artificial and frozen Texas raised HEB shrimp along with cut bait as well.

They are the best kayaks for your average fisherman. We bought 2 Old Town Saltys 120pdl's. Been limiting out on Reds every time we've been out here S of Houston. I like the curved bow of the Salty. We also bought a few extra things, like the Rudder Bolt, Floating Prop Nuts, etc.

It is a beast of a kayak! I've had a 340 pound person do well in it and a 220 pound man and his 80 pound dog also do great in it.

Great review, I've owned one for a few years and I agree with your review. You can make a seat riser for the back of the seat out of piece of lumber, or buy one from Navarre Kayak Fishing or Yak Hobby. Check out Navarre Kayak Fishing, they have all kinds of great accessories and upgrade parts for the Sportsman.

Little story, I started with a native slayer 12.5. It felt like a barge. So I went to a compass 12'. It was good but tried fishing from my wife's passport 12'. The Passport is a better fishing kayak so I switched to it. I've been thinking about an outback or sportsman. Recently fished out of a friend's brand new hoodoo impulse 120. For 1500, it is an amazing kayak. Thats the best kayak for the money by a long shot.

I'm 5'9"and 280lbs I am torn between the pdl 120 and the pdl 132 that wolf uses. Is the 132 as stable as the 120? I am just figuring you have been on wolf's kayak too.

Both can handle you, but the 120 is more stable

120 was definitely too big for me the 106 was perfect! Faster turns quicker in the water and the drive goes 3 inches shallower.

Shallow is good! I'm sold on 12 foot for the chop though. I just personally need a narrower 12 foot kayak for myself. I love that little hoodoo but they made changes this year and I do not like the new tempest. Very upsetting. They had a good thing going. My new tempest I just bought, I won't fish in it again unless I have to.

@@gutzfishing7853 they redesigned the hull and the whole kayak compared to 2021. Very tippy and it never finds stability compared to the older model It has you leaning left or right the whole time I never feel centered. I loved the old one. Way Less storage on the new one too
