For 2022, PSE launched the Omen as a super-fast compound bow that doesn't feel like a super-fast compound bow. With virtually no hand shock, a manageable draw cycle and 90-percent letoff, the Omen is blazing fast, while still being a pleasure to shoot.

Thanks for the review. I've owned the original Omen, the Full Throttle, and the original Xpedite. Started shooting the original Evo 31 & 28 (non-speed bows) and realized how harsh the draw cycle and hand shock was on the speed bows. Since moving to the Mathews V3, I didn't realize a bow could be so smooth shooting. Shot the Levitate this year at a shop after a year of shooting the V3 and I was shocked (no pun intended) at how much hand shock that bow had. If I was given the Levitate, I would sell it on eBay and buy a V3x. PJ, "Virtually no handshock..."? on the New Omen? With the limbs on the new Omen sweeping more forward, I can only imagine how much more hand shock there would be than the Levitate. All this for maybe 10'-15' more speed? Just not worth it to have your shoulder ripped off every-time you have to let down or those cams hitting the top of the blind or raking against tree limbs on a shot. PJ, on your PSE Levitate review you say, (12.33) "[You] don't feel that hand shock. I will say you do feel some reaction from the bow...it's not a harsh shock that goes all the way up your arm. It's like a dull thump." So trying to interpret what you're saying, there is no handshock with the Levitate but yes there is some hand shock with the Levitate. Are you a PSE dealer? Just asking. I shot one at TAC SD. It does have more vibration than a Mathews but it's not terrible. And for a guy with a 26.5" draw the extra speed is nice.

I will buy the 80# version in 2 years or so when it is half price as people HATE speed bows and are scared of them.

Rpm 360 btx 31 mathews halon 5 hoyt rx7 turbo . 29.5 draw 70 pounds. I learned on speed bow and I love it. Now omen looks good . I usually warm up at 60 to 80 them 100 yard so slow bow not going to do it .even tho hunting 40 to 60 yards top.😅

If you remember to turn elbow out...you can shoot to 5" brace height easily won't hit arm. While holding the bow, slightly twist your elbow out and you'll see your forearm go outward.

@@johnwoestenenk5976 It is almost physically impossible to slap your forearm when twisting the elbow out. Even popeye would have issues.

That's mostly eliminated these days with the string stops. Watched a slow motion video years ago and the string would hit the wrist on the way back to rest and not on the way forward. Was interesting.

@@brokenarrow6491 a 5" brace height slapping a wrist isn't stopped by string stops. That and the stiff draw is why people hate short brace heights. Now string stops did stop longer brace heights from slapping wrists, but to me bows got louder. Shoot a Mathews Switchback XT or Bowtech Tribute and then shoot a modern bow. Those bows without the string stops were so quiet with whiskers on.

356/345fps? Why come out with something, name it after an old speed bow, and have it 10/21fps slower than the original. Maybe they will have parts for these for longer than 5years after production. At least it is adjustable draw length.

The marketing has changed greatly over the years. Everyone wanted to claim 360 back in 09 when the OG Omen dropped.

So modern compounds have hit a brick wall of speed and physics? KInda sucks, every year a company puts out a new $1000 bow with these VERY tiny upgrades. When do we get something ground breaking?

They are already at 90% let off I mean what more do u want 300 plus fps hunting set ? Buy a new 3k crossbow if you want 400 fps

@@quintinkale1242 not a fan of 90%, that let off isn't legal in a lot if states for hunting, it's a good for sure, marketing is too much though. But yeah, who wouldn't want a bow that Can sling 300 fps with let's say 500 grain arrow?
