2022 Sinnis SM-R / 125cc Budget Super-Motard
I had many people coming to me and complimenting the bike. But how it is to ride?
It is a budget 125cc super Motard with very close to a maximum allowed torque for an L plate riders.
However you get what you pay for and you can't expect it to be equal to a twice a price bike.

I lived in Colchester when that 5 in 1 roundabout was first introduced. Man did it cause some chaos! But as you said, it’s easy really. Nice to see the old place again. One of my daughters lives near by in Ipswich. She’s a biker too. Perhaps you’ll meet one day. She’s also a fan of your channel. 😉

Very clever review video. Crammed a stack of important things into it, beyond just the cool little starter supermotard review. That's the ideal first bike. Cheap but pretty tasty. Droppable with minimal tears. The seat height chat was spot on, people need to understand that if you get trained to ride properly you never put your right foot down. It stays up on the back brake when stationary. You shouldn't need to waddle on tippy toes if you park smart and avoid any need to back up. If you gotta reverse, you jump off and walk it back safely. If non riders understood this, it only comes with training, less people would be intimidated by the can't flat foot thing. You could do a whole video on shattering this total myth and it would make such an impact. Proper rear brake control and foresight with bike positioning is what needs drummed into everyone's minds. Really good video Di. If I was 17 that bike would have been a wet dream!

Lots of girls covering a ‘short rider’ tips, because majority are not as tall as man. I do not fall in to that category being a giraffe 🦒, plus most of the bikes I ride are low with low weight. And to be honest with you one of the reasons I don’t like adventure bikes is that I feel like riding dinosaur with a big head. Too high, too upright, too much to hold when stop. That’s not the main reason though. As I challenged myself over and over again to like them.

@@tomboyabit you must have a long back! 29" inside leg in men's trousers is size S for short (30" most often actually) so your size is very relevant for guys too. Stressing the point that only one foot needs to be down and a little butt shuffle to the left is crazily new news to many riders in other countries. Their (much less complicated or challenging) bike test doesn't fail them for not holding the back brake when stopped. Hence they just use front brake and freak out if they can't flat foot. Your audience is very international so I think it's helpful to drop this knowledge on them. Even UK/Euro riders who've had their licence for a long time may not have been trained to ride this way back in the day. Probably really interesting for them to see that crazy 5× combined roundabout system too. That's a brain melter even by UK standards! That's a little race track when it's empty at night 😎

Great review. Not a bad looking bike at all. I like the Super Motard tires and wheels. Should be a real fun bike at low to mid speeds where you ride most of the time anyway. AND super light which makes it really flickable. Nice sporty 125.

Hey, tomboy_a_bit! I have Aprilia SX50 Factory SuperMotrad, with 80cc upgrade. Its so awesome. I recently got it back after 3 moths and 3 weeks, that it was in workshop, after my crash in may 2022. Im so happy, but the bill was 900€. Still its leaking something.

In North America they tend to not have a graduated entry process for a motorcycle license so people talk about 300cc to as high as 660cc (100hp) as "entry level" bikes which to me is insane. There are very few small displacemment street machines available for sale. I think this contributes to fewer new riders and more accidents and bad experiences for new riders. If Gov't limited new riders to under 250cc machines the manufactures would be motivated to supply North America with such bikes and I think it would actually boost sales overall as these bikes are less intimidating. 🇨🇦

its good to see manufacturers are making 125 machines that resemble full size bikes again . last ones i can remember were the Shadow and Varadero 125 from Honda. they definitely required a second glance 😁

Im fortunate to have a FEW bikes mostly classics but generally ride a Duc Hypermotard, HD RoadKing, HD48 and a 1974 Kawasaki H2 750, I acknowledge everyone no matter what they ride, Im generally ignored usually when on the RK especially by Harley, Power Rangers and GS riders, but hey we all cant be as rightous. That said I cant wait to see how my latest bike is accepted being a Honda X-ADV750, "WTF nod to a SCOOTER". lol. I need to say I think it embarrasing when some hang a leg out, though at least its a "hi matey".

Doesn't seem too bad a bike for beginners. You can see what they are trying to achieve, i.e. for a 125cc, it's really unnecessarily large (and the seat height), but that would make it attractive to a youngster to 'pretend' to be on a larger bike and a sporty/ motocross/supermoto type one at that. But that does have the advantage to be better prepped for that larger bike after the full licence is gained.
@tomboyabit
@tomboyabit Жыл бұрын
I was also thinking, why so tall? But then could feel the advantages.
@mrsmith4662
@mrsmith4662 Жыл бұрын
@@tomboyabit It does also imitate the tall seat height on motocross bikes (I have one - doesn't get used much, but is fun), to allow for massive suspension travel when going over those whoop sections and jumps - but ofcourse not needed on the road (unless our roads get a lot worse).

throw in a 250 lump & it'd be a brill all-rounder, 125 is just too small for me. that roundabout isn't unique, there's several more scattered about but yes, they do your head in at 1st!
