After years of failing to properly market this car, Toyota finally decided, after the announcement that the Avalon is being cancelled, to finally advertise it.

Toyota deliberately never marketed the Avalon for fear it would cannibalize ES350 sales. The two are not very differentiated with identical power trains yet a 20% premium for nearest equivalent Lexus model which is too much price for not enough incremental value. Now Toyota will bring the Crown to take Avalon's place.

I’ve been saving up for a new car and have been very indecisive, with the 86, the Camery XSE, and the Avalon being my top choices, but you sir will be the reason i am cruising down the freeway in an Avalon in a couple of weeks

My family has a 2013 Avalon hybrid and I’ll get to drive it more when I get my license soon hopefully 🙏 really love it, it’s always been reliable sad to see these discontinued but ultimately they aren’t very common choice compared to Camry’s ngl because they’re more luxurious and Camry’s and Prius’s are more known to be a more cost friendly choice which Toyota is built on

Yes, all of these money hungry companies are building what sells the most which is the SUV. They forget about making buyers happy with what the buyer wants.

If Toyota designers would have pulled their heads out of their solid waste excrement holes and quit producing ugly, eccentric, over-imagined designs for the Avalon, it's demise would have never happened. Even the immense popularity of trucks and SUVs couldn't curtail the booming popularity of the Avalon design that ran from 2005 to 2012. But Toyota ruined the Avalon's popularity with the total Avalon makeover that began in 2013. The public NEVER accepted that change. But, still, the Avalon in this video is a nice vehicle that I would drive because it's a TOYOTA....and I believe in Toyota QUALITY and RELIABILITY. 4REAL

@@rodgerm5311 I know. They sit in their design studios and concoct the next designs for future vehicles, deciding amongst themselves what customers will have to accept, or not accept. I've been saying that automakers should email out prototype surveys of vehicle exterior and interior designs that they are considering for future production to get a feel for what buyers want, instead of this "you're gonna' eat your porridge and love it!" attitude about what buyers will have available.

@@4real637 Start looking at other cars that now mimic this grill design from other manufacturers. In person the front of this car looks way better than in videos and photos. You lose all sense of depth especially because of the black color.

I put 15k miles on a 2022 Bluepoint Avalon. I freaking love it. Main reason because it feels incredibly safe. Smooth quiet ride. The adaptive cruise control and lane-assist works really well on the highway, that car can literally drive itself. Which is really nice as I regularly drive a 30 mile stretch of highway. I have the black interior. Which visually is a little boring. But is comfortable and spacious. I’m about to trade it in for a Touring with Cognac seats. Although I really want a limited but cannot find one. Aside from additional safety features, premium leather, ventilated seats, bird eye camera, and heads up display I really just want an interior that wasn’t black. I don’t love the black “leather” seats in the XLE trim. The car drives amazing, all the power you really need on hwy, and I average 27.6 mpg so it’s a nice sweet spot between performance and gas mileage.

If you're considering this model, you may be better off buying a used 2019 Avalon (I have one). It's exactly the same as this, minus two features: Android Auto and the rear sonar system with automatic braking when reversing. If you don't need either of those, a used 2019 Avalon touring would be more worth the money (unless of course you want a new car).

@@raymathews7035 I traded my 2012 Camry SE V6 for Avalon Touring last year and no regrets. The Avalon is a way better car in all ways except not as quick acceleration. How Toyota could mess that up with 8 speed transmission using goofy gear ratios and 33 more hp is beyond me? The power to weight ratio is about the same

Na, 2022 Avalon is amazing. The 19 is great as well. They really corrected the blunder of the 13-18’s generation But the 2022 Avalon is on a different level then previous years. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned

I think that's what I'm gonna do. I test drove a TRD avalon and it was really stiff. I know that's the whole point but I don't want that feeling for a daily so I hope touring is comfier. And then I wanna add the TRD exhaust and diffuser to the touring 👍

I think the problem with the Avalon is the target of the consumer. People buy Toyota because of their reliability and cheap. Otherwise, if they want luxury, they would have gone with Lexus. With the price of the Avalon, I would prefer a Lexus instead.

I know right. the avalon is one of my favorite "value used cars". It's a shame they won't be making anymore but at the end of the day not enough people were buying then anymore.

I wanted to buy the 2022 Touring model in red. But, they've mindlessly discontinued that color. Which is the best color. I guess no then.

Let me add to this: The remote start feature is only available of you purchase a subscription, and it's via an app (not key fob). So yes, it has remote start if you're willing to pay monthly for it. But the subscription also comes with other useful features, like being able to lock/unlock your car from anywhere via app, see its location, etc.

Hit the lock button on the remote 3 times and on the third press hold it until the lights flash and the engine will start. You do not need any subscription if you use this method for the remote start.

I remember when this was comparable to the Hyundai Azera back from 06-11. Now the new Azera blows this out of the water, not that this is bad. Still very nice.

@@Ramonet3000 If you mean like 2017 and older you might have something to debate there but the 2022 Azera mops the floor with the Avalon, which if it was better probably wouldn't be discontinued after this years model anyways.

@@commycasty Sedans in general are losing to SUVs. The problem with the Avalon is marketing. The mindset is the Avalon is for people 50 years and older. Truth is the style, handling and durability is a definite sell for people 35 years and older.

I don't like any car without the front bumper showing. There are always those idiots that do parking by braille. They just keep pulling forward, or backward, until they bump the next car. All it takes is one bumping into this and they mash up the grill on this one.

Car companies ALWAYS USE THE PIANO BLACK PLASTIC!!! IT IS GARBAGE.....EASILY GET SCRATCHED UP AND LOOK HORRIBLE LATER. THE BUTTONS LOOK SQUARE AND DATED NOT AT ALL MODERN. ACTUALLY THE 2021 LIMITED AWD V6 IS AMAZING

This car is a joke for 45k price. Cheap plastic buttons, no power trunk, outdated infotainment. It's better of dying this year as people lost intrest in sedans.
