For those of us in pothole-ridden NY State, this car can run 60-series tires on 16" rims in winter. That is because it has similar brake rotors to the base Camry. So would recommend it and save those giant 19" rims with 40-series tires for the summer months. Great car; my sister has the Hybrid version and gets 42 mpg driving the back roads of NH.

The Touring model is really nice and drives well for someone who wants a great daily and Long distance drive. We have the limited model (2020) and love it. However I wish they would had added a panoramic roof, holder for glasses, true ambient lighting. The Engine is all V6 models is butter and super reliable. Also the touring model should have gotten an option for the cognac interior as like limited. That’s the biggest downfall for the touring.

XLE trim has 17” wheels, Limited has 18” wheels, Touring and TRD have 19” wheels. The Limited has full leather interior. The XLE, Touring and TRD use a syn-tex material. It would have been nice if Toyota offered a panoramic sun roof vs standard size sun roof. The Touring trim is on my radar for my next vehicle

I have a 2020 Limited Hybrid with the saftey package. I love it! Such a good long trip car and I do get the 43 MPG in all but winter which I am getting 39 MPG. I think V6 is also a great option but I couldn't pass up the MPG for such a large car with a lot of room. I had came out of a lease from a 1018 VW Tiguan and find this much easier to live with.

I would’ve liked to see them ditch the TRD because all it provides is the look of a performance sedan which the Avalon is not. Would’ve been cool if they took the black wheels and other accents from the TRD and gave them to the touring.

@@ResplendentRaider I think there’s a place below performance which is sporty. It’s okay for a car to be sporty it doesn’t have to be full performance. there’s a market for sporty cars some people but don’t need 600hp. So a sporty model is a good thing I think the TRD adds much flare which makes the Avalon look cool. Also Toyota never advertise the Avalon as a performance car if you actually research it the model is strictly catering towards better handling. Not faster performance

I have this car, non-hybrid V6, and I like it very much. I spent over 60 hours shopping, the best I could do was sticker price plus $5,000. Dozens of dealerships told me people are "panic buying" anything with a normally aspirated engine, that is NOT hybrid. Check out the cost of replacing the hybrid batteries before you buy one. I like Toyota because right on the light switch is "DRL Off". Two government studies have shown there is NO safety benefit to driving around with your lights on in the daytime. Moreover, Forced Lighting is rude when you end up in situations where you're shining your lights in someone's eyes and you CAN'T shut the lights off on the car. There are still 400 drive-in movie theaters in America today, the ability to turn off your lights when the vehicle is in motion is essential.

Toyota recently revised their warranty for hybrid batteries. Instead of eight years, or 100k miles, it's now 10 years, or 150k miles. To me this says a lot about the confidence Toyota has in its products.

I have a 2016 XLE V-6 Avalon that I bought brand new. I've had a lot of problems with it; 1 set of windshield wipe blades replaced and oil/filter changes every 3,000 miles. Oh, I also have to stop and get gasoline when the low fuel light comes on, lol! Gets 24 city 32 highway, 27 mpg combined. Still have good tread on the original Michelin tires. Roomy interior and smooth, quiet ride. Such an awful car! 🤣

They're only having to cancel the Avalon because they refused, since the inception of the current example, to properly market and advertise it. Also, with the chip shortages, when they become available, they're not going to the Avalon. Lastly, and arguably most importantly, Toyota discovered that they can charge a premium for essentially the same product in a Lexus ES.
@ResplendentRaider

Kaylon i agree. As long as they kept the Avalon going, probably less consumers would look at the ES.
@travelseatsyellowlab

@@ResplendentRaider unfortunately what you said is true. A gullible consumer could easily fall for the gimmick that is Lexus badging. Toyota took full advantage of this. What some shoppers don't realize is that insurance is cheaper on the Avalon, as is routine maintenance. The Avalon also has better long-term predicted reliability and longevity. Despite the wider array of options on the market, I still believe that even in 2022, the Avalon is one of the best values on the market.

@@travelseatsyellowlab facts. I was looking hard at the ES but after carefully researching, it just wasn’t enough offered on the ES vs the Avalon, especially for the price of the Lexus. To see a real difference between the two, one would need to get higher than the base model, which increases the price by alot.

@@ResplendentRaider My same experience. A few months ago I started to absorb bits of information about it. I was all in with the ES350 (And also considered the GS350, but with the premium gas I decided it was a no-go) so after further research and test drives of several ES350, GS350, Avalon Hybrids, you name it. At some point one absorb so much information that you actually start to make sense of the mess and make good decisions based on the data. I "discovered" that for the same 2013 ES350 price most dealers were asking I could get a 2016-2017 Avalon Touring, which I did (V6), pretty new 17k miles on it, put it through a PIP and Toyota said "it's like new". If I compare that with a pretty worn interior/exterior of most of those ES350s and the mileage (some had 80k, some 55k, but no less, which to be honest it's not a lot BTW, but it's much more than 17k miles) I would say it was a win win situation. Still feels looks luxurious to me and it's pretty new, rides smooth and most importantly I feel happy about it since it also gets the job done.

The front grille doesn't bother me so much. But I had the previous model Avalon and couldn't wait to see what the new model looked like when it came out as I was going to upgrade. I just didn't like it. From the back it looks rather pedestrian, if not boring. I stuck with my old Avalon until I went over to a white Camry with red interior that I saw on the lot.
