The "moment we've all been waiting for", it sounds good....ok; watched it until the end: that is Very impressive for "at the rear wheel" power, it has got to be a blast to ride now !!!

I AM SO CHUFFED to finally see this happen Dave, I think this is the first legitmate steady state tuning captured of an Euro 5 Triumph Twin (at least that I've seen). Thankyou to you and Charles fella's for someone finally doing this. Dave.... has to be asked man - is this exact map available?? My Euro 5 1200 McQueen Scrambler with cat delete, stock end cans, snorkle removal & DNA filter would really appreciate this exact map as a starting point (tps corrections and all). I'm curious what fuel you're on, what timing advancement you ended up settling on and if it's going to be safe for our peasant Australian RON98 (close to your 93) fuel as well. If you and/or Charles would like a thankyou donation in exchange for this map (given the work that went into it on this occasion) I'd be completely open to that too. There is really no-one in Aus I can get to run Tune ECU on a dyno and my dongle just rocked up :P
@SquireSCA
@SquireSCA Жыл бұрын
Well, the work we did on this is specific to the Speed Twin. The fuel tables we created on the dyno would not work on your Scrambler. Different motor, different exhaust...
@HoagesMoto
@HoagesMoto Жыл бұрын
granted different exhuast, same header tube diameter though and comparable restriction (both decatted and similar volume/end pipes). Are our engines mechanically any different? (I hadn't thought so) same 1200 as the thruxton/speedtwin/bobber to my knowledge - I've emailed you :)
@SquireSCA
@SquireSCA Жыл бұрын
@@HoagesMoto I will pull the map and look at it, but there are at least 2 versions of the 1200 motor. The High Torque that the Bobber has, and the High Power that the Thruxton and Speed Twin share. I mean, I can copy in my settings to your base map(remind me specifically which model, year, country and VIN range you have), but I can't promise that it will work, or won't cause a problem. I normally don't take a dyno tuned map from one model and put it into another...
@hunty92
@hunty92 Жыл бұрын
Because of the difference in RPM range between these two bikes, it's hard to simply convert a Speed Twin map to a Scrambler 1200 map in TuneECU. Both have tables using 32 rows of data, but the difference in rev range means all of the RPM values displayed are going to be distributed differently between maps. In some cases it's only 20 RPM or so off, but it still feels weird when you run the map. You would likely have to calculate/adjust everything outside of TuneECU and manually input the changes. Also, though I think both are the 1200HP engine, the ST still has a higher compression ratio and some different internals with the 2022 model year.
@SquireSCA
@SquireSCA Жыл бұрын
@@hunty92 Agreed. I wouldn't do it personally, I would hate to make a map and have it blow something up... If someone wants to take my data and do it on their own, then it's on them... Always know the risks, and make sure you are comfortable with the software before making changes. The maps between the Scrambler and Speed Twin are quite difference, so I don't think that my tune on this bike is applicable on the other.
@fickin1
@fickin1 Жыл бұрын
So what’s the verdict then, how far out was your tune compared to the new one or was yours pretty good?
@SquireSCA
@SquireSCA Жыл бұрын
Mine was very close in the mid range and cruising area, but had some lean spots higher up, It's spot on now.
@nscott26
@nscott26 Жыл бұрын
Hey Dave, in the previous dyno video the dynojet chart showed the lean midrange, was it actually lean or was it bad sensor placement or an inaccurate sensor?
@SquireSCA
@SquireSCA Жыл бұрын
Bad sensor, he replaced it after that session. I put it on another dyno and it was right where it needed to be.
@SquireSCA
@SquireSCA Жыл бұрын
Well, he recalibrated the sensor, and I think he added a longer "sniffer". The one he had for this session was really short, only went like 12" down the pipe, so when they are that short, they an actually pick up outside air in between the exhaust pulses.

I have a speed twin 1200 2022 and i am going too install a arrow racing manifold, is your tune going too work as well? I guess it is almost the same.. and better then not doing anything at all. And after im going for a test run.

Did you remove the top speed limiter? Will be a bit if a pain on a long track.
@SquireSCA
@SquireSCA Жыл бұрын
No, I didn't bother. Frankly, the bike isn't gonna do much, if anything over 130mph anyway... It has decent power now, but the aero of a brick wall... The realistic top speed for this bike, is exactly where the stock limiter is anyway...

@@SquireSCA Fair enough - should be a blast, thinking of getting one of the new semi faired Speed Triple RR as a track bike replacing my old Hayabusa. I like long heavy stable bikes on the track. Suits my riding style and I don't care about trying to beat the really fast boys! Waiting to see if they stick to their promise to resume production in the UK - I refuse to buy a Thaiumph new.
